Why are letters not sent to Yandex.Mail? Should emails sent via SMTP also appear in the Sent Items folder on the email server? Pin an email to the top of the list

When sending a message to Yandex mail, an error may occur, and the letter may not be sent. This issue can be dealt with quite simply.

There are few reasons why letters are not sent to Yandex mail. In this regard, there are several ways to solve them.

Reason 1: Browser problem

If an error window appears when you try to send a message, then the problem is in the browser.

To solve it, you will need to do the following:

Reason 2: Problem with Internet connection

One of the possible factors causing the message sending problem could be a poor or missing network connection. To figure this out, you'll need to reconnect or find a location with good connectivity.

Reason 3: Technical work on the site

One of the few options. However, this is quite possible, since any service may experience problems, due to which it will be necessary to restrict access to the site to users. To check if the service is available, go to and enter mail.yandex.ru in the check window. If the service is not available, you will have to wait until the work is completed.

Reason 4: Incorrect data entry

Quite often users make mistakes when entering "Destination" incorrect e-mail, signs are placed incorrectly, etc. In such a situation, you should double-check the printed data for accuracy. If such an error occurs, a corresponding notification from the service will be displayed.

Reason 5: The recipient cannot receive the message

In some cases, sending a letter to a specific person is not possible. This can happen due to banal overcrowding of the mailbox or a problem with the site (if the mail belongs to another service). The sender will only have to wait for the recipient to sort out the difficulties that have arisen.

There are a small number of factors that cause problems with sending emails. They can be solved quite quickly and simply.

When using SMTP to send emails (either through an email client or via a script), the emails typically do not appear in the Sent Items folder on the email provider's server. But this is reflected in Gmail Sent Folders (Google Apps).

Isn't it mandatory to save mail in the Sent Items folder on the server? I treat sent emails as my journal for auto-sent emails.

In order to use SMTP, you don't even need to have a mailbox at all. Otherwise, you will not be able to send email to other servers and email aliases will not exist. - Alvaro Gonzalez 25 Apr 13 2013-04-25 12:13:12

Your email provider has several ways to provide you with email access. Two of the most common are pop3 and imap. It seems to me that you have pop3, which just pushes emails to the client and forgets about them.

You can have email folders including sent messages if your ISP provides you with an imap server. Otherwise, you can change email providers.

When I send emails from my client using Provider1, the sent emails do not go into my Provider1 server's Sent folder. But sent emails always appear in the Gmail (Google Apps) sent folder. - Motion Graphics 15 Feb 10 2010-02-15 18:55:07

No, this is not necessary, there are two email protocols, POP3 (Post Office Protocol Version 3) and IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol), when using an email message that is used in the POP3 protocol, it is not possible to tell POP3 to store the sent email ...

The workaround was coded and created in an email client such as Outlook, Thunderbird to name a few, which use the POP3 protocol.

However, when the email client talks over IMAP, the email server knows where to store it, consider in layman's terms that IMAP is an extended form of the POP3 protocol.

This way, any action performed on your email client, such as sending mail, will be stored in a specified folder on your computer by your email client, ALSO, the server will store it neatly in a folder on the server, as the result of synchronization between your email client and server.

Typically an email client such as Microsoft Outlook receives messages via IMAP4 and sends messages via SMTP.

I'm not aware of many mail servers that automatically store mail sent via SMTP on the server Posted folder other than Gmail/Google Apps.

Typically, though, once an IMAP4 (as opposed to POP3) connection to the mail server is created to receive incoming mail, you can install an email client to copies sent messages to the IMAP folder. Alternatively, sometimes an automatic BCC can be configured from the email client .

Copying outgoing messages to the IMAP folder will synchronize the local IMAP folder with the mail server and therefore have a similar effect on Gmail/Google Apps functionality. However, in this case, each message sent via SMTP is transferred to the mail server twice: 1) Sending via SMTP. 2) Synchronization between the local folder storage in the client and the corresponding folder on the mail server.

By default, the current folder displays the 30 most recent emails. To see previous emails, click the button More letters(under the list of letters).

You can change the number of letters on the page in the settings:

The three-pane interface displays all emails in the current folder. To read previously received emails, scroll down the list.

Select letters

You can perform various actions with selected letters:

","hasTopCallout":true,"hasBottomCallout":true,"areas":[("shape":"circle","direction":["top","right"],"alt":"Select all emails on page","coords":,"isNumeric":false,"hasTopCallout":true,"hasBottomCallout":false),("shape":"circle","direction":["bottom","right"] ,"alt":"Select one letter","coords":,"isNumeric":false,"hasTopCallout":false,"hasBottomCallout":true)]))">

While selecting emails in the three-pane interface, hold down the Ctrl key. To select all letters on the page, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + A.

Pin an email to the top of the list

To keep an important email visible, pin it to the top of the list. To do this, select the letter and click the Pin button.

The pinned email is highlighted on the left with a yellow stripe and is shown first in all folders. For example, an incoming letter will also be displayed in the Sent folder. New messages are shown under pinned ones.

Note. If you see sent or old emails in your Inbox instead of new ones, check to see if there are any pinned emails in your Inbox.

Mark email as read or unread

To mark an email as read, click the icon to the left of the email's subject.

To mark an email unread, click the icon to the left of the email subject.

To mark all messages in a folder as read, click on the icon to the right of the folder name and confirm the action:

Old messages are displayed above new ones in the list

Such letters are pinned to the top of the list. Pinned messages are highlighted with a yellow stripe to the left of the letter line.

To unpin an email, select it and click the Unpin button.

When all emails are unpinned, the yellow bar to the left of them will disappear. Unpinned emails are automatically sorted by date received.

There are no buttons above the list of letters

Buttons appear when you start working with specific emails. Select at least one letter in the list - and the buttons will appear.
