Samsung gt p3110 custom firmware. What do we need

For those who have just become a beginner or are not an expert in the huge world of Android and are not particularly familiar with the concept of how - Root Android, and also why it is needed, what can be done after obtaining Root rights or how to get rid of them later if they are no longer needed, all this can be found in the detailed article -!

First of all!

There are no "left" links or unnecessary actions in this article! If you really need Root Rights, then read carefully and follow step by step, this is a guarantee that you will do everything right! This article on obtaining Root rights is divided into two parts: The first part is Required components and conditions, the second part is Instructions how to get root rights using the received files and programs. If, in the process of getting root rights, Android constantly reboots or in the process of eternal loading (it happens extremely rarely, but still), then it's worth it. Now let's get down to getting Root rights!

Android manufacturers sometimes release new firmware on which it is not possible to get Root using one of the proposed methods, if there are other alternative methods in the article, try them. Doesn't it work all the same? Indicate the Android version and firmware version in the comments (do not write angry shit comments, you will not put yourself or others with this). Android hangs (does not load), read and re-read from the very FIRST paragraph, all the necessary links in the article are present!

Still have questions?

Still have questions or can't root your Android? Leave comments about what you did or failed, or you did differently.

Step-by-step instruction

How to flash Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 tablet

The idea to flash the tablet came to me after updating it, in other words, my beloved Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 became just stupid, with a heavy load it just stupidly hung up and hung for 10 hours until it was discharged, and since the Hard Reset button is absent, there is no way to restart. In short, I grieved thoroughly. In general, of course, there can be many reasons for the firmware, and since you are here it means you should not explain all of them.

And so let's start from the very beginning, what we need for this ...

  1. SAMSUNG USB Driver for Mobile Phones v1.5.33.0 ()
  2. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 firmware itself ()
  3. Odin firmware program ()
  • The first thing we do is install the SAMSUNG USB driver (numbered 1) on our computer.
  • Next, install Odin (at number 3)
  • Now the most important thing is to put the tablet into download mode using the top two buttons 1 + 3, holding them simultaneously for several seconds (see the picture below)
  • Further, after the menu appears, press button 2 from the picture above (the sequence in the pictures below).

  • This window will open, this is just what you need

  • Well, we are all ready for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 GT-P5100 firmware
  • We take the USB cable and connect our tablet to the computer
  • Open the Odin program that we previously installed
  • The program should determine the port to which our device is connected (circled in red in the picture below)

  • Now it remains to indicate the path to the firmware itself. Since I have a multi-file service firmware, there are several files in the archive and you need to specify the path to all. Pay attention to the name of the file, it usually coincides with the name of the buttons. Specify the largest file in the PDA, specify the path there if you have only one file in the archive.
  • The green bar in the picture shows the download progress and the topmost button in the left corner too.
  • When everything is ready, just press the Start button and wait for the end of the firmware.
  • Then the tablet will reboot .... give it time to boot.

Now the rules that should not be ignored ...

YOUR TABLET MUST BE CHARGED!

IF YOU ARE NOT SURE WHAT YOU WILL GET, DO NOT START

KNOW YOUR TABLET MODEL

If you have not successfully flashed the tablet before and it no longer appears in the boot menu and does not respond to the power key, perhaps this firmware did not fit your tablet. Press all three buttons at the same time and on the second logo buttons as usual, perhaps this will help to enter the desired menu.

Before flashing SAMSUNG GT-P3100, I will share my opinion. In my opinion, the most ideal tablet from SAMSUNG in terms of form and content is not very large (like P7500), but not an overgrown smartphone (I9300 or NOTE), but here, as they say, taste and color ... But let's go in order.

In appearance he is a tablet and a tablet in Africa. The assembly is decent, there are no gaps or gaps anywhere. Tablet dimensions 193.7 x 122.4 x 10.5 mm, weight 341 g. The quality of the plastic is decent, you can scratch it, but it's problematic. There are no problems with the buttons, they are convenient and comfortable to use.

Display 7-inch with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels. Samsung used its own PLS matrix. The display is equipped with a capacitive touchscreen that supports ten-finger multi-touch. The surface of the screen is covered with protective plastic. Color and picture quality is average.

Battery 4000mAh is the same battery found in the first generation Galaxy Tab. With intensive use, it will last for five hours. The device is charged in a couple of hours. It is gratifying that not only a proprietary charger, but also a computer USB port is suitable for charging. The minus in the cable date is that the third one was thrown into the trash heap, and the original cable is very expensive.

Camera. To buy and use a tablet for photographing and filming video is not only inconvenient, but in my opinion it is idiocy. Apparently the developers had the same thoughts. Since they used a simple 3MP camera with no flash and fixed autofocus. The quality of the pictures is average, the quality of the video is the same. For the Internet just right.

Communications. There are - mobile communications and mobile Internet - 3G. Plus Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and USB. (but there is a model without 3G).

Multimedia. Everything is fine here. All more or less popular codecs are supported - including MPEG4, H.263, H.264, VC-1, DivX, VP8 and containers - 3GP, ASF, AVI, MP4, WMV, FLV, MKV, WebM. Subtitles are also supported. The audio player has tremendous possibilities for sorting content. The sound is good, loud. MP3, AAC, AMR, FLAC, MID, WMA, WAV and Vorbis files are played.

Iron. Not the most sophisticated hardware component (dual-core processor, with a frequency of 1GHz, 1GB RAM, data storage: 8GB + support for microSD memory cards up to 32GB). But in most cases, you simply won't notice. An obvious advantage over competitors is support for voice communication and SMS.

ATTENTION!!! Before starting a software update, rooting, resetting settings and other manipulations with your own or God forbid someone else's device HIGHLY RECOMMEND read this one. In short, you were warned and do not say later that you hear this for the first time.

What you need to flash SAMSUNG GT-P3100

Tablet PC

Check that the battery of this device is at least half charged and the system connector is in good condition (there are no oxides and mechanical damage), otherwise it simply cannot be detected by the computer and it will not work to flash it.

Cable

For the firmware, we need the cable that comes with the device.

Drivers

In order for the tablet to be detected in the OS, you need to install drivers. In the previous article, we used NEW PC Studio, here we will try to use KIES... Kies is free software developed by Samsung for Windows or Mac OS, and allowing the Korean manufacturer's mobile phones and tablets to interact with personal computers. Data exchange occurs via a wired USB interface or wirelessly - Wi-Fi. When installing this product, all the necessary drivers will be installed, as well as with the help of Kies you can save all the necessary information from the phone to the PC and vice versa. You can download the latest version of this software from the official SAMSUNG website for free.

Firmware software

Flasher version: Odin3_v1.86

Firmware version: P3100XXCLL3 2013/01/13

The version of the firmware used in the article is extreme. The link to download the archive with the firmware and the flasher is at the end of the post.

Firmware Updates

Installing KIES

We download, completely free of charge, from the official website of the SAMSUNG company a program called KIES. We need it in order to install the necessary drivers on the computer - otherwise the tablet will not be determined and we will not be able to flash it. Also with the help of this program you can make backup copies of contacts, photos, etc. IMPORTANT! When installing KIES, Internet access is required. But you can not bother installing the kitty, but just install the SAMSUNG_Mobile_USB_Driver driver separately - installation instructions in the post.

Step 1: Launching the KIES installation

Step 2: Select the required language from the list and click the "Next" button

Step 3: We accept the terms of the license and click the "Next" button

Step 4: KIES installation process. The installation downloads prerequisites from the Internet. Installation time directly depends on the download speed.

Step 5: Installation completed. Click the Finish button

Step 6: Running program.

So we have installed the drivers we need. You can close this program. We won't need it anymore. If you need to save information from your phone, then figure out how to use KIES on one's own- it's very simple. Try it. Everything is intuitive, the interface is very user-friendly, there shouldn't be any problems.

Preparing the flasher and tablet for a software change

Since we are trying to flash Samsung GT_P3100, I will also use the appropriate firmware version, namely P3100XXCLL3 2013/01/13 (the latest at the time of this writing). Let's start configuring the flasher - Odin3_v1.86.

Step 1: Run Odin3_v1.86.exe

Step 2: Running application Odin3_v1.86.exe

Step 3: Press the "PIT" button and select the file signed_espresso_20120220_8G.pit (how many gigabytes your device has on the rear panel) from the folder with firmware

Step 4: Press the "BOOTLOADER" button and select the file BOOTLOADER_P3100XXCLL3_725177_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5 from the folder with firmware

Step 5: Press the "PDA" button and select the file PLATFORM_P3100XXCLL2_692503_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5 from the folder with firmware

Step 6: Press the "PHONE" button and select the file MODEM_P3100XXCLJ3_REV_04_CL1195937.tar.md5 from the folder with firmware

Step 7: Press the "CSC" button and select the file CSC_RXE_P3100RXECLL1_751425_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5 from the folder with firmware

Step 8: Now we need to enter the phone into the software update mode. To do this, you need to hold down in turn the following buttons on the device - "volume down button" + "power button"

Step 9: Now press the "volume up" button

Step 10: Now you can connect your tablet with a cable to your PC. After that, ODIN will determine which port the device is using. (in my case com6
