The day has come when we will finally touch on something other than headphones and players. Today we will look at a new device for our site - a Bluetooth speaker, or speaker, as you like, called Auluxe X5 Nubeat. This is not an ordinary speaker; it has features that set it apart from other devices in this class, which will be discussed below. The device was purchased on Aliexpress.

The Auluxe brand has existed since 2007, was founded in Taiwan and owes its name to the two words from which it is formed - “audio” and “luxury”. The products are divided into two lines: the luxury “signature” and the simpler “bi”.

First, as usual, about the packaging, which evokes exclusively positive feelings and does not make one think of cheap “Chinese” equipment, packaging, and other visual things. The medium-sized box is made of ordinary packaging cardboard of medium hardness and does not carry any printing. Its lower part is covered with a cardboard shell with decent printing of European design. I liked that there was no glossy film glued on top of it. Maybe this is not entirely true, but the ubiquitous gloss on the box of a modern gadget tells me that the quality of the product is not very high. It's probably experience.

The Auluxe X5 Nubeat speaker is not richly equipped, only a short miniUSB cable and an instruction manual. By the way, they forgot to put it in my copy of the speaker, but this did not become a problem - the functionality of such devices is generally modest, and the controls, which can be considered an absolute advantage, are intuitive.

What can Auluxe X5 Nubeat offer us in technical terms? The speaker has a cylindrical shape: length 210mm, diameter 80mm. It weighs as much as 566 grams. It has two channels, a reproduced frequency range from 180Hz-20kHz, an operating temperature range from 0 to 45 degrees Celsius, Bluetooth version 3. Battery life is 8-10 hours. The Nubeat is billed as a speaker designed for outdoor use and is therefore IP65 dust and water resistant. This means that its body is dust-proof and can protect not just from splashes, but from jets of water from any direction. In addition to serving as a speaker, the Auluxe X5 Nubeat can act as a speakerphone kit for a smartphone.

The device looks decent. There are only two colors in the design, in my case it is yellow and black. The controls are located at the ends: on one of them there is a call acceptance button with a rim of an LED event indicator and a volume control ring; on the other, there is an on/off button, a microUSB port and a 3.5mm AUX input, which are closed with a rubber plug. There is a ring for attaching a strap. Four rubber feet along the entire length of the speaker, two on each side, ensure good stability of the device. An important detail, the diameter of the speaker was not chosen by chance, it was made so that the Auluxe X5 Nubeat could be securely placed in a standard bicycle bottle holder. The only thing that spoils the overall impression is the huge inscription “water resistant ip65” on the case, somehow it’s not solid, or something.

Auluxe X5 Nubeat is equipped with four speakers, two of which are bass speakers and are located at the back of the device, and the other two are located at the front. There is a microphone between the front speakers.

The sound of the device is very good. And if when connected via Bluetooth it is slightly flat, which is not a problem with this speaker, but is due to the features of the standard itself, then with the use of AUX everything becomes especially wonderful. I honestly liked the sound. In terms of frequencies, of course, acoustics of this size, located at a considerable distance from the ear, cannot compete with stationary systems, but overall the sound is more than decent, the detail is excellent. There is no need to talk about the stage. What kind of stage can an acoustic system have, the channels of which are located in the same housing and at a very close distance from each other? If the distance between channels is less than the distance from each channel to its corresponding ear, then by definition there will be no scene. This is the form factor of this device. At maximum volume the sound is not distorted.

I suspect that many people are interested in whether the protection against dust and moisture matches the manufacturer’s claims. I’m disappointed, but since the Auluxe X5 Nubeat speaker was purchased at the request of a friend, and not for personal use, I did not conduct any dangerous experiments. But the battery life was tested and it turned out to be longer than promised. At medium volume the device played for about 16 hours. Perhaps the manufacturer indicated the operating time at maximum volume.

The controversial point is the heavy weight of the device. This is partly due, presumably, to the capacious battery, but clearly not to it alone. Most likely, a weighting agent is placed inside the case, designed to dampen its vibration and rattling. This is of course a plus, but not every tourist will be able to find free space in their backpack for such a heavy thing.

Overall, I liked the Auluxe X5 Nubeat Bluetooth speaker. Its price is not low - $93, but for this money there is a lot offered that cheaper devices cannot boast of: as many as four speakers, two of which are low-frequency; excellent degree of protection from dust and moisture; battery life is about 10 hours; Can be used as a speakerphone; AUX input and very good, detailed sound. I’m not a big expert on such speakers, but at the moment I think the Auluxe X5 Nubeat, although not cheap, is a very good device and I recommend it for purchase.

Upon receiving the parcel, I was somewhat surprised by the size of the box. Yes, in principle, the speaker cannot be called very compact; it looks more like a small boombox. The box is intact, without damage, the model number BTK 1015 is printed on the front, and the main features are marked with pictograms.

The appearance is something. I admit that for the most part I fell for it. To some it resembles a rugby ball, but this sport is unfamiliar to me, so my associations are much more fantastic: the face of an alien, a humanoid) Futuristic design. As a fan of science fiction, I couldn't resist.

The design is worked out to the smallest detail. Materials: plastic with rubber coating, metal. Wherever I take it with me, it always attracts attention with its appearance.

The next button is play\pause, it is also responsible for accepting a call if you want to use the device for a conversation.

Now about the most important thing - work and sound.
All mode switches are voiced by a Chinese girl in English with a cute accent. In this performance, the voice acting is not at all annoying. The maximum volume of the device is simply crazy, it is the loudest speaker I have ever heard. He yells at maximum volume so that you have to shout for the other person to hear something. Moreover, the volume is not one of those that hits the ears with squeaks and ultrasound, but a normal powerful volume - with medium and low frequencies. At high volumes, of course, we shouldn’t talk about high-quality sound, but as an option for street use at barbecues or on the beach, it’s just right. At medium volume you can already hear the sound quality, which I would characterize as good. When playing via Bluetooth, the speaker does not produce any extraneous squeaks or noise. When playing from a flash drive, it remembers both the track and the place where the music was turned off, after turning it on, playback continues. The radio reception is good within the city, but outside the city the reception is very poor. Considering its price, it would be an ideal option, if not for the short operating time. Of course, if you wish, this problem can be solved; for example, you can buy an additional battery, fortunately there are plenty of them in China and they cost pennies. In fact, I already have a couple of these batteries at home, because previously they were often used in all devices: from boomboxes to phones with 4 SIM cards)) You can also use it in conjunction with a power bank, connecting for example a Xiaomi with 10400 mah, you can leave it on for a week. There are also cheaper options for power banks, for example the well-known 18500 power bank that costs no more than a couple of bucks. In general, the power supply problem can be solved, but additional investment + some inconvenience in the form of connection is required.

1) In terms of sound, I liked the Xiaomi the most - the highest quality sound, however, only one speaker and insufficient volume for me to use outdoors knocks it out of the competition.
2) Today's review hero has the highest power, low price and excellent design. In addition, it is the most functional of all. But the overall sound quality is slightly lower than that of competitors, and problems with the battery do not add anything positive. This option is not for me.
3) Although Enson does not have super high-quality sound, and in silence you can even hear the noise from the amplifier, but personally I choose acoustics for use on the street, and there this is secondary. But there is good autonomy, wide functionality and quite loud sound. My choice is Enson!

The components are cheap, the process has been established for a long time - in general, do it, I don’t want to.

Xiaomi is not lagging behind, annually releasing two or three models of its own speakers. But unlike numerous competitors, they all have their own identity. First of all, their gadgets are stylish, made in a minimalist design using high-quality materials. But one of the decisive factors is the price, traditionally low for Xiaomi products.

This also applies to our hero, who was announced relatively recently. Now the official price of Xiaomi Mi Portable Bluetooth Speaker is $9.

Since none of us will be able to buy anything in the official store, we should look towards third-party online platforms. So, the column came to me from here. In this store they are asking $13.68 for it, which in Russian money is now about 900 rubles. Pennies? Not that word! Especially considering the quality and capabilities of this baby.

By the way, connection breaks practically never happen. My Mi Portable Bluetooth Speaker disconnected from my smartphone on its own only a couple of times. I do not know why. In addition, for normal signal transmission, it is better not to put any obstacles in its path. The speaker will not reproduce anything through the wall. From a distance further than 4-5 meters too. By the way, 5 meters is the maximum working distance declared by the manufacturer itself. You see, they didn’t lie.

There is also a built-in microphone. I still don’t understand where it is located. There is an LED next to the Micro USB port (flashing red or blue), and there is a loop on the side for attaching a strap. Most likely, the microphone was hidden under a metal mesh, somewhere near the speaker.

Since there is a microphone, the gadget can be used as a wireless headset. Everything is just like that. Moreover, at the other end of the tube the interlocutor can hear your speech perfectly, if you hold the speaker even at arm's length. Once you move a meter or more away, you can no longer hear so well. The expected, quite good result.

Managing a call is very easy. When a call comes in on your smartphone, press the back button once - the call is accepted. Pressed again - hang up. Long press - rejects the call. Everything is simple and clear.

The only inconvenience is the following. For example, you listen to music from a smartphone through a speaker. At this moment a call comes in. I want to talk through the phone microphone. And at this moment there is no way to turn off Mi Speaker. LeEco, for example, does not allow you to go to the Bluetooth settings. You have to talk on speakerphone through a speaker.

The top side is very similar to a shower strainer. I think if the speaker ever breaks, you can take it apart and use the body as a watering can for a yogurt bottle. You can, for example, water flowers or give your hamster a bath. This is some free, useful advice.

Let's move on to the main function of the gadget. The sound quality is quite good. The average volume is enough to fill an average sized room with sound. At the same time, communication will most likely not be comfortable. Setting the volume to one third is another matter.

The speaker is surprisingly loud. At maximum volume, grunting, whistling and other “joys” come out. It is better to set the volume to 80-90%. The music will still play loudly, but the extraneous noise will go away.

If you place the speaker on some hollow wooden surface, it will begin to transmit low-frequency vibrations to the wood. However, I still can’t call it bass. They are only indicated here, but in fact they are not there. Don't forget about the size of the speaker and its cost.

In general, you shouldn’t expect impressive sound quality from acoustics of such a tiny size. The speaker will be perfect for the court where it is absolutely impossible to listen to music through something more or less serious. I would advise audiophiles to pass by. May their ears not be defiled.

Personally, I love high-quality sound, but I still consider myself more of an ordinary person. And I am completely satisfied with the sound quality. But I like the dimensions of the speaker even more. It is really very small, weighs almost nothing and can always be taken with you. It won’t fit in a bag, much less a backpack.

And besides, on the side circumference there is a small loop where you can thread a cord and conveniently attach the acoustics to jeans, on a bicycle - or anywhere at all.

Battery life varies greatly depending on the volume setting. For example, at maximum the speaker lasted 2 hours 17 minutes. After this, endless disconnections began to occur, which means it’s time to charge. By the way, this can be done both from a computer and from a regular charger with a 1 ampere output. In the latter case, the gadget is charged to 100 percent in 1 hour 50 minutes.

If you set the volume to the average value (50-60%), then you will have to try hard to drain the built-in battery (300 mAh, by the way). In this position, my gadget played for 12 hours and 20 minutes. It is clear that such autonomy is through the roof.
