Wallpaper program for Windows 7. Automatic change of desktop wallpaper (pictures) in Windows. Login Tab

A program for automatically changing wallpaper on your desktop according to an arbitrary schedule. If you want variety in background pictures, then this program is what you need.

Changing the wallpaper on the Windows desktop manually is certainly interesting, but it quickly becomes boring. And why waste time on this if you can entrust this matter to a free program Magic Wall?

Program features

  • Installing a new picture every time you start the computer;
  • Any schedule for changing wallpaper;
  • Organizing pictures into albums;
  • Search for new wallpapers from the program interface;
  • Ability to display on multiple monitors at once;
  • The ability to “Scatter” individual pictures on the background and much more.

Installation of Magic Wall

Let's install the program and see what and how it does.

Download the archive MagicWall.zip and unpack it to a convenient place on the disk. In the resulting folder, run the installer with the extension exe and in the windows that appear, click the “Next” button (in the meantime, accept the “License Agreement” by moving the switch).

At the end of the installation, click “Install” and in the next window we refuse Yandex.Bar (uncheck the first box next to the inscription “Install Yandex.Bar”).

Magic Wall Interface

The main program window will appear in front of us:

So what do we see here?

Wallpaper tab

The Magic Wall interface resembles that of a regular image viewer. That is, at the top of the window - Menu, on the left - Album Manager, on the right - Wallpaper thumbnails with wallpaper control buttons.

Let's start with something simple, with the Album Manager. Using its buttons we can create and delete albums or move them around the list. If you click on the album name, you can collapse or expand it.

It’s clear that albums have no meaning on their own; wallpaper must be stored in them. So let's create an album as an example and put one picture in it.

In the Album Manager, click the blue plus sign to create a new album. The following window will appear:

Enter the desired album name (for example: “Kote”) and click “OK”. A new album will appear in the "Wallpaper" section:

Now you need to put some picture in this album. In our case, it will be a picture with a cat. Just grab it with the mouse, drag it onto the album title and release it. Now our cat is in the album "Kote". But, at the same time, he remained in the album “Everything”. That is, the picture itself is where it was, only a record about it has appeared in a new album.

Fine. Now let's add more cats to the same album that you already have on your computer. To do this, go to Wallpaper Sketches (right side of the program window). Here we can add a separate picture (the "Add Photo" button) or an entire folder with pictures ("Add Folder").

The "Install" button installs the selected picture on the desktop (if several pictures are selected, the last one will be installed).

The last button in this list, “Delete,” deletes the picture from the thumbnails (but not from the hard drive).

So, we’ve sorted out the “Wallpaper” tab, let’s move on to the next one.

Collections Tab

This tab is a mini-browser that opens a page on the developer's website from which you can download and install new wallpapers.

On this page you can select the section you are interested in, for example, the same “Animals / Running / Kittens”, among all the kittens, select the wallpaper you like and click on it to view it in a larger view. If you are satisfied with the cat, click on it again and the program itself will offer to upload the picture. We agree to her proposal and the picture is added to our album, at the very end of the “Everything” album, from where it can be installed on the desktop.

Login Tab

The next interesting feature is to set a background for the user selection screen when logging in.

Settings tab

In the last tab you can configure technical issues, such as launching at Windows startup, settings for changing wallpapers, picture location and background color.

Managing the program via tray

To change wallpaper or change program settings, you don’t have to look for its shortcut. If the settings are set to boot with Windows, then the program icon will be in the tray (in the lower right corner of the screen). By left-clicking on it, you can see this window:

In it you can change the wallpaper on your desktop without opening the main program window.

If you right-click, another window will appear.

With it you can do some things accessible from the main window, plus update the program and view information about the developer.

That's basically all that can be done in this program.

Advantages and disadvantages of the program

  • interesting features like setting a background for the login screen or scattering pictures across the screen;
  • simple and intuitive interface;
  • the ability to select and download new wallpapers directly in the program;
  • Convenient sorting by albums.
  • not a very wide selection of wallpapers on the site;
  • sometimes the program displays some “artifacts” on top of the window (can be classified as “magic features”).

Conclusions

The program copes with its main task with a bang and even has several optional features. For those who love it, changing the wallpaper is enough for complete happiness.

But it should be noted that even with beautiful wallpaper, authenticity will not be complete if sound design is not added to the selected picture. This interesting service allows you to fix this problem: http://naturesoundsfor.me/

If you are tired of the standard desktop picture in Windows, then you can always change it to any other one. This can be done in different ways, the simplest of which is to right-click (RMB) on any picture on your computer and select the same item “Set as desktop background image” in the context menu.
And this way you can change the wallpaper on your computer whenever you want. It’s just that they often put up one picture that they like, and then either there’s no time to change it, or there’s nothing to do.

I would like to remind you of one standard function in the Windows operating system - automatic change of images on the Desktop. It works simply - you specify a folder with pictures, press the save button, and then the wallpaper changes automatically according to the time you specify. A good way for those who want some liveliness on their desktop.

Before we begin, I want to warn you that you should already have a folder on your computer with images that will change on the desktop. The Internet has many sections and sites and groups and is full of everything in terms of wallpaper. You can select either a single picture or download an entire collection. Therefore, I will not advise anything like this in this regard. Unless, where there are already and sometimes new wallpapers for the desktop.

So, there is a folder with images, now go to the desired setting in the Control Panel. The fastest way to do this is by simply right-clicking on any free space on the Desktop and selecting “Personalization”

In Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 this item is the same.

Now if you use Windows 10, on the Background tab you need to click on the Browse button and select your folder with images (or photos) there.

Next, configure parameters such as position and frequency. Don't forget to specify the parameter Background"Slide show.

If you are using Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 , then the path will be slightly different. You need to select "Desktop Background"

and go to the change window.
Here, click the Browse button and select the folder with the images. Below you can see the selected pictures and uncheck the ones you don’t like.

Next, below we select the frequency, position and random order. We save the changes with the button and rejoice at the change.

Automatic wallpaper change in Windows Vista And XP not provided by standard methods. To do this, you need to use third-party utilities. They are both free (for example ESCO Wallpaper Changer) and paid.

That's all for now. Automatically changing desktop images is another good feature in Windows.

There are many ways to customize your computer to make it look more unique. There are a variety of tools for this, from complex changes to your desktop using widgets and docks. Although Windows does not natively support live wallpapers, there are several programs that can help eliminate this shortcoming.

Before we continue, it's important to make sure you understand the implications of installing a live wallpaper on your desktop beyond the pretty animations. If you have a laptop, then its battery life will be shorter, and if you have a weak computer, then its performance will decrease. This is because such programs use 6 to 10 percent of the processor's processing power. If you have one of the latest Intel processors, then there will be no problems, but if you have a 2010 laptop, then you will encounter all the problems listed. So let's get started!

Wallpaper Engine

Wallpaper Engine is one of the best programs for installing live wallpapers that are currently available for Windows 10. Yes, it is paid, but it costs only 99 rubles. Immediately after installation, thousands of options become available to you, which are included in 1 click - you do not need to download anything separately in the browser. In order not to get lost among this variety, you can use filters, categories and sorting by popularity, novelty and other parameters.

Installation is very simple - select the option you like and click OK to activate. To access even more options, click the Workshop tab. Here you will find many options, ranging from regular videos to interactive wallpapers that respond to cursor movements and mouse clicks. After selecting the ones you like, click the “Subscribe” button to install them. You can also create your own using the built-in editor.

Another important argument in favor of Wallpaper Engine is that it stops working during games. This frees up RAM and processor power so that gaming performance does not suffer. In order not to load the system, you can limit the frame rate from 10 to 25. The user can independently control a number of important parameters: playback speed, volume, image color palette. There is a function that allows you to make the taskbar transparent so that the wallpaper fits as seamlessly as possible into the overall design of the system.

Supports 3D/2D images, has a large selection from the DevaintArt online gallery. Like Wallpaper Engine, it allows you to use websites, videos, and interactive wallpapers. There is a built-in editor that allows you to create your own live wallpaper, including using static images.

RainWallpaper also boasts minimal CPU and RAM usage. This means that using the program will not have a significant impact on system performance. To free up even more valuable resources, RainWallpaper has a pause feature when a game or full-screen application is running. But it’s worth noting that there are much fewer settings here than in Wallpaper Engine.

A good, but also paid program. Can work with MPEG, MPG, WMV and AVI formats. This means that you will not be able to use MP4 files, but this problem can be easily solved using some free format converter. There is support for multiple monitors. The preview feature will show you what your desktop will look like with the selected wallpaper.

After installing the program, open the settings window. Drag the selected video into this window, select it and click the Apply button. You probably thought it couldn't be that simple, but it really works like that! After installing DeskScapes, you will be able to use the free version for 30 days. If you want to use the full version, you will have to pay 600 rubles.

A Reddit user has created a free program to set videos as wallpaper on your desktop, instead of a static image. After unpacking the archive, double-click on the VideoPaper.exe file - the corresponding shortcut will appear on the Windows taskbar. Now right-click on the shortcut and select Settings from the drop-down list to go to settings.

After that, click the Create Video Panel button, which will create a new settings profile, and then select the video you want to use as wallpaper using the Set Video button. Everything is ready! Although the program is small and weighs only 761 KB, it does its job perfectly without requiring any special knowledge from the user.

Video Screensaver

And as a bonus - another program that can use video as a screen saver. If you're wondering how to do this, then read on.

It would be difficult to find a better application for this purpose than the one called . It makes it possible to use video of most modern formats, with different sizes and resolutions.

After you download the program, look in the folder for a file called VideoScreensaver.ico. Right-click on it and select “Install” from the menu that appears. Now open your screensaver settings by clicking the Start button and select the “Change screensaver” option.

Select VideoScreensaver from the drop-down menu, then click on Settings, select the screensaver from the folder that appears and click OK. Ready!

Often, when purchasing a new computer or laptop, you receive an already installed Windows 7 Starter operating system. In most cases, it allows you to do everything you need, but it has a small but very unpleasant limitation - the inability to change the background image on the desktop.

Moreover, in Windows 7 initial you cannot do this in any way using the operating system. If, upon purchase, you received the version of Windows 7 Home Basic (home basic), then you can change the desktop background by right-clicking on the image file and selecting “Set as desktop background image.” However, other settings for the background image remain unavailable.

You can change the situation either by upgrading your operating system to Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Ultimate, or by using one of two methods to set the wallpaper on Windows 7 Starter or Windows 7 Home Basic :

  1. Setting the background through the personalization panel.
  2. Setting the background using the Oceanis Change Background program.

Setting the desktop background through the personalization panel

The initial and basic versions of Windows 7 do not provide the ability to personalize the desktop to your taste and color. But it can be connected.

Setting the background using Oceanis Change Background Windows 7

The Oceanis Change Background program allows you not only to set the desktop background in any version of Windows 7, but also to automatically change it after a certain period of time.
