What kind of tablet do you need for tanks. Will your tablet handle World of Tanks Blitz? What to expect from the release

For a very long time, players in world of tanks have been waiting for the opportunity to play their favorite game not only on ordinary personal computers or their mobile versions - laptops, but also on tablets. And finally, such an opportunity appeared. But not everything is so simple. The game has quite serious requirements and in most cases it simply will not "work" on many weak tablets. That is, you need to purchase a new tablet that would be ideal for this game. There are many options for such devices, but you need to understand which elements you need to pay attention to. The first is the video processor. Fortunately, all new tablets are equipped with quite high-quality components and this element will not greatly affect the performance of the game, but only if the tablet is really new.

The second element to look out for is the processor clock speed. A processor of approximately 2 GHz or faster is ideal. Smaller options are also acceptable, but unwanted game issues may already arise. The amount of RAM must be at least 2 gigabytes. The rest of the parameters are no longer so essential, the only thing is that it will be better if the screen has a large size and a high-quality matrix. These two parameters will have little effect on the performance itself, but they will have a significant impact directly on the comfort of the gameplay and the enjoyment of the game.

Based on the above, this article will offer the latest novelties among tablets, which will be able to provide high-quality and comfortable play at adequate settings. There are actually a lot of them, however, not all of them are optimal for this game. In addition, not all modern tablets have all the necessary parameters, since their different versions may be suitable for different games, applications, programs and have different functionality. That is, some tablet models are more suitable for games, including for world of tanks, others are more focused on working with documents, searching for information on the Internet, working with graphics and much more.

The first device with suitable specifications is the Teclast T98 4G. It runs on the Android operating system, version 4.4. The clock speed of the processor is 2.0 GHz and the amount of RAM is 2.0 GB. The screen size is 9.7 inches, while the matrix is IPS, which guarantees excellent image quality. Of the minuses, it is necessary to note the glossy screen coating, which will glare in bright light, and it will be uncomfortable to play. The rest of its parameters and indicators are quite standard for tablet computers. Since they have little effect directly on the gameplay, this article will not pay attention to them.

The second tablet on offer is called the Lenovo ThinkPad Helix. Of the positive features, it should be noted the clock speed, which is as much as 2.8 GHz, 4 gigabytes of RAM, a large screen, more than 11 inches in size and an IPS matrix. Cons - the glossy screen, on which it will be difficult to make out something in bright sunlight or any other light. Another not very positive element is the operating system used, Windows 8, for which the game is simply not optimized. As with the first model, all other characteristics and features are completely standard and do not affect the gameplay in any way.

The third tablet is made by Nokia and is called N1. Two gigabytes of RAM, a clock frequency of 2.3 GHz and an IPS matrix will allow you to play in the world of tanks efficiently and comfortably. However, the screen's small size and glossy finish can slightly reduce the overall gaming experience. The rest of the functions of this tablet are generally standard for all devices of this type and there is no point in dwelling on them.

The fourth proposed device is called the Pro Slate 12 Tablet and is manufactured by HP. In all its parameters, it is excellent for the game. This tablet has as many as four cores and the clock speed reaches 2.3 GHz. At the same time, the amount of built-in RAM is 2 gigabytes. The screen size is also optimal for games and is 12.3 inches. The rest of the parameters are standard.

The last described device is called STYLISTIC Q584 from Fujitsu. Of the minuses, it should be noted that the used not the most optimized Windows 8 system and the glossy screen, on which glare from bright light will be strongly visible. On the other hand, this tablet has a 2.4 GHz clock speed and a whopping 4 gigabytes of RAM, which is more than enough for a compact game. An excellent and high-quality image is provided by a large ten-inch screen and an IPS matrix. Everything else does not particularly affect the gameplay and will not be described in this article.

In general, all modern tablets described above are well suited for high-quality and comfortable play in world of tanks. They allow you not to worry that the game will "slow down" or that there will be any problems with it. Thanks to all this, if you choose a tablet that would fit the specified game, then choose either from the models indicated above, or their counterparts with similar parameters and characteristics. Otherwise, on weaker and less productive tablets, the game may not work as well or constantly "glitch", which is unlikely to provide pleasure from the gaming process.

At the current stage of development, the game is being launched and supported on iOS and Android systems. Therefore, the requirements will be described only according to the OS data. In addition, developers are mainly focused on tablets.

Minimum requirements for iOS:

At the moment, the game is launched and works on tablets starting from iPad2 and phones starting from iPhone 4S... On these devices, the game will run with at least average graphics.
iPad1 and iPhone 4 not currently supported. Work in this direction is underway. The developers assure that they will try to give players the opportunity to play on these devices at low settings.

GPU Requirements for Android Devices:

    Tegra 3

Mali-400MP- medium-low settings (optimization has not been done yet, improvement is possible)

Adreno 225- medium-low settings (optimization has not been done yet, improvement is possible)

PowerVR SGX544MP2- at least average settings.

On all GPUs above the stated, the game will run at medium or high settings. Support for GPUs of other families will be carried out to the extent possible and commensurate with the growth of their popularity.

GPU PowerVR SGX 540 installed in Galaxy Tab 2 not currently supported. Work in this direction is underway.

An approximate list of Android devices on which the game is tested:

  • Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8000)

    Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 (GT-P5200)

    Sony XPERIA Tablet Z (2013)

    ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T-1B012A

  • Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (GT-N5100)

    Lenovo IdeaTab S2110

The devices differ greatly in their performance in the game and it is not yet possible to guarantee normal operation on all of them. Well, the presence of a device from the list is not a guarantee of getting into the closed beta test.

Some additional data

According to preliminary estimates, the game will occupy about 250 MB in virtual memory.

The approximate weight of the game is 500-750 MB.

But we strive to warn you that all figures at the moment are approximate, and changes in any direction are possible.

What to expect from the release?

According to various sources, it is worth waiting for 70 to 100 combat vehicles for release.

The types of equipment are already known for sure:

    Light tanks

    Medium tanks

    Heavy tanks

    Anti-tank self-propelled guns (PT-ACS)

Each type of vehicle will have unique playing characteristics and require a special manner of playing. SPGs are not planned in the game at the moment. The performance characteristics of the technology will change, compared to the PC version, but they will try to preserve the character of the machines.

The game already has three development trees planned:

    Soviet

    German

    American

Each tech tree will have three tech branches. The pumping speed will be faster than the PC version. There will also be premium vehicles in the game.

The planned number of levels is 10. E-100 and IS-7 are already known from the tops.

Game format: blitz battles 7 vs 7 players. It will be possible to play platoons for 2 and companies (the format has not yet been determined). A Global Map system for clan wars is also planned. The duration of the battle will be shorter.

Modified balancer, in contrast to "big" tanks, by - / + 1. The approximate size of the maps is 500x500. Mostly there will be open cards. But the introduction of city maps is also planned.

The glare mechanic is inherited from the PC version, but due to the smaller size of the maps, the radii of the vehicle will be smaller.

Changes in the booking system compared to the “big” WoT are not expected.

At the moment, the project is not part of the "Single Account" system and is still developing as an independent project, but a player who already has an account in World of Tanks or World of Warplanes can register through a single Wargaming.net ID account.

The release date is still unknown. Prior to release, players will be able to take part in the general closed beta test of the game. The game will not have an alpha test!

For several years now I have been an ardent fan of the World of Tanks game. Of course, I heard about the release of the version for mobile devices - World of Tanks Blitz, played a little and even fell in love with it. However, the lack of a suitable gadget prevented me from fully enjoying mobile tanks. For a comfortable game in World of Tanks Blitz, my Samsung Galaxy S5 was not enough due to the relatively small display, moreover, it was noticeably warming up, but gave out confident 45-50 frames per second. But on my old unnamed tablet from eBay for $ 60, it turned out to be completely unrealistic to play, the device produced no more than 20 fps. I think you understand that such indicators are not enough for a comfortable game.

A friend of mine has a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. I tried to play tanks on it. Everything is super, all the same 50 frames per second, nothing heats up, everything is clearly visible, but this device (and another similar one) costs quite a lot - 35 thousand rubles. Of course, I'm a fan of tanks, but to buy a new, powerful and obviously not cheap tablet just for the sake of a toy - thank you. Better I’m their corny doorway - there’s a crisis in the yard, no time for excesses :)

In general, I temporarily decided to abandon World of Tanks Blitz. But a couple of months later, I accidentally met a colleague at work in the smoking room, who was sitting and playing dances. I stared at him at the screen, saw all the beauties of modern graphics and the coveted figure - 50 fps. With all this, I did not recognize the tablet model, although I thought that I knew about gadgets. After waiting for the end of the battle, I asked to see the outlandish device: it was a model of the Russian brand bb-mobile called Topol. "Having rummaged a little on the Internet, I found out some of the technical characteristics of this device. For example, I found out that it is equipped with an eight-core processor, graphics accelerator Mali -450MP4 and has 2 GB of RAM. For all this, the Topol costs 11,700 rubles. Well, it is very tempting, especially considering that tablets of the same characteristics of the first echelon brands are priced much more expensive.

After lengthy negotiations, I managed to beg my colleague bb-mobile Topol "for the weekend, so to speak, to test it in action. (As a result, testing lasted for a week, so I wrote this review with full responsibility.)

Let's start. The body of bb-mobile Topol "deserves respect. Firstly, the device looks decent. You can’t say that this is an inexpensive model of a local brand. Secondly, the body can be safely called ergonomic. The corners of the tablet are slightly rounded. Therefore, they do not dig into the palm, but This adds convenience to the grip both in the vertical position of the gadget and in the landscape orientation (which is exactly what is needed for World of Tanks Blitz.) Thirdly, the device has an all-metal case, as it is written on the official website, with internal stiffening ribs.

Metal is more pleasant to hold in your hand than plastic, and during loads in demanding games, it better removes the heat generated by the "filling". And, of course, the metal gives more chances that nothing will be damaged in the "Topol" if it falls. In short, if you really play tanks - then on a tablet-tank! And the hero of this review is just that.

It is not only the back side of the tablet that is protected - the screen is covered with special glass, on which, in addition, a protective film is glued.

The power key and volume rocker are located on the right side of the tablet (if held vertically).

Connector for recharging (microUSB) and headphone jack on the top. There is also a hardware reset key, prudently recessed into the case: you will have to use a toothpick or a needle to press it.

There are no more connectors outside. At first glance, it may seem that the user will have to be content with only the allocated amount of built-in memory, which, by the way, is 16 GB. However, on the back of the bb-mobile Topol ", on top, there is a plastic insert. It is removable, and under it is a slot for a microSD memory card. In addition, there is a compartment for a SIM card. Yes, the gadget is equipped with a 3G Moreover, it is used not only for Internet access, but also for voice calls and exchange of text messages.

I can only say good things about the screen. If you do not know its characteristics, then we can confidently say that it is Full HD. In fact, it is HD, that is, 1280 by 800 pixels, and this is with a diagonal of 8 inches. The image is clear, bright. Viewing angles reach maximum values - 178 degrees. These indicators are achieved thanks to the use of high-quality IPS-matrix. In general, I was pleased with the display.

Now let's move on to the most interesting thing - to the "stuffing" and performance. bb-mobile Topol "is built on the eight-core chipset of the Taiwanese company MediaTek - MT8392. Each processor core operates at a frequency of up to 1.7 GHz. As I said, the graphics accelerator Mali-450MP4 is used here, and the amount of RAM is 2 GB. The tablet is running. very, very smart, but I will not get ahead of myself.

It is important that all cores in the processor can work both simultaneously and NOT simultaneously. The device automatically adjusts the number of involved processor cores and their clock frequency. For example, you are playing the same World of Tanks Blitz, this requires maximum tablet performance. Therefore, all processor cores are involved, and their clock frequency becomes close to the maximum. For browsing the Internet, viewing photos and similar tasks, a couple of cores are enough. Well, in standby mode, only one core works at the minimum frequency. Everything is simple and practical.

Let's turn to popular benchmarks and see how many "parrots" bb-mobile Topol is gaining. "It's impressive, agree.

Now let's move on directly to performance in games, namely in World of Tanks Blitz. As I said above, bb-mobile Topol "confidently keeps the bar at 50 fps. The graphics are beautiful, battles load quickly, and the device practically does not heat up even after a long game. For two days I played for several hours in a row - the temperature is even close did not rise to the same as the Samsung Galaxy S5 in the same game in just a couple of fights.

For the sake of interest, I launched on bb-mobile Topol "NOVA 3, which was already installed on the tablet by my colleague. The result is absolutely no thoughtfulness of the device, everything is fast and beautiful.

We figured out the performance and temperature, everything is in order here, but what about the power consumption? The 8-inch bb-mobile Topol "uses a 4000 mAh battery. For a tablet, this is far from a record figure. But its battery life is quite decent. You can play the same tanks continuously for about 4-4.5 hours, which is absolutely According to a colleague, the gadget can play video in HD-resolution for about 7 hours.

The bb-mobile Topol "operates under Android 4.4.2. The tablet interface is no different from the standard one, that is, no shells or launchers are used.

It is also worth mentioning the presence of two cameras: front and rear. Their resolution is 2 and 5 megapixels, respectively.

There is not much to tell about the first one, for Skype it is enough for the eyes. The second copes well with photographs outdoors on sunny days; in low light, noise is clearly visible in the pictures.

And finally, about the wireless modules. I have already spoken about the 3G modem. In addition to it, there is a GPS, which allows you to turn bb-mobile Topol "into a car navigator. Also, of course, there is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. I can not express any complaints about their work.

A few words about the package bundle, it is very decent - a case, a screen wipe, a microUSB cable, a 2A network adapter, an OTG cable, a stylus, a headset, instructions and a warranty card.

Let me summarize. bb-mobile Topol "I liked it. I actively used the tablet for two days and during this time did not find any flaws in it. The device is good both externally and internally, I mean the" stuffing. "The gadget has a huge margin of performance, even in demanding games it works “with a bang.” It seems to me that such characteristics of "hardware" will be relevant for more than one year. At the same time, "Topol" has a completely democratic price tag - 11,700 rubles. I'll think about taking one for myself over time. I will not stop loving "Tanchiki".
