Today, every owner of a 3G modem is a happy owner of high-quality mobile Internet, which can boast of stability. The positive aspects of the Internet from MTS also include simplicity and versatility, since you do not need to configure the Internet connection yourself (manually). It is enough to use a special program called “connect manager” from MTC.

About functions and purpose

MTS Connect Manager is designed to automatically configure any device, so access to the global network can be configured in a couple of clicks. Today, this program is available for full-fledged PCs (desktops, all-in-one PCs, netbooks/laptops) running Windows 7 (or higher), as well as handheld communicators, smartphones, tablets and other devices.

The utility contains a whole package of programs and drivers that are automatically installed on the connected device. The connection manager boasts a convenient and logical menu that displays the network signal (coverage), battery status, average speed and amount of traffic consumed. Some functions, such as sending SMS messages directly from a laptop, cannot be overestimated, since they are really useful in practice.

Where and how to download?

Downloading MTS Connect Manager for Windows 7 should not be difficult for the average user these days. This program is freely available everywhere, and there is also a . It is recommended to download from the latter first, since it guarantees a working version of the connection manager (the current version), devoid of various malware (including spyware).

After downloading, you need to run the installation file, and then do the following:

  1. Direct installation on PC,
  2. Connecting a 3g modem to a computer or laptop (by any available method),
  3. Launch the connection manager program, which will configure and install all drivers,
  4. Select the one you need from the list of services: 3g, GPRS/EDGE, Hyper.Net or Hyper.Active.

If all actions were done correctly, then high-speed 3G Internet from MTS will show its full potential in practice. More detailed information can be found on a special website.

Many MTS customers often encounter problems with modem drivers from the company. As a rule, drivers for correct operation are already installed in the device and clients do not need to install them additionally. All that is required is to connect the modem and wait for the driver to install automatically. But sometimes there are situations when automatic installation does not occur. In this case, you need to install everything manually. Therefore, MTS offers simplified installation options.

This program was created specifically for MTS customers who use USB modems and mobile Internet on a desktop computer or laptop and other devices. MTS Connect is available for download on many resources, including on the company’s website. After installing such a service, clients will be able to safely and without problems use the Internet and other privileges.

Program installation

To install, you will need to adhere to the following structure:

  1. You need to find and record MTS Connect on your PC;
  2. Run and install the file;
  3. Connect a USB modem to the computer, into which you must first insert a SIM card with an activated tariff;
  4. Enable MTS Connect Manager on your computer and select the desired service to access the Internet.
  5. Next, you need to press the connect button.

This program allows you to install drivers automatically. The program itself selects the necessary and suitable driver for the correct operation of the modem on the device.

Advantages of using MTS Connect Manager

Such a program has several positive aspects that subscribers must know before using:

  1. The application independently calculates Internet traffic, data transfer speed and performs other useful actions.
  2. All drivers are installed automatically, and the Internet becomes available within a few minutes.
  3. Using the manager is convenient, since MTS has created a convenient interface that you can work with on an intuitive level.
  4. Subscribers can view the quality of the network signal directly on their computer.
  5. You can connect your mobile device to your PC and exchange text messages directly from it.
  6. The program also configures additional options automatically.
  7. Subscribers can quickly find out about traffic consumption, account balance and how much money was debited.
  8. It is possible to use other networks to access the network while roaming.

To install the program, you just need to download the installation file and run it on your computer. Thanks to the installed application, each client will be able to use the Internet on their USB modem anywhere, with maximum comfort.

Update

You can update the drivers by going to the page of the modem you are using. Next, you will need to click on the software update button. After this, the client will be offered a file for downloading with a list of new, updated drivers. In addition, the connection manager can be updated with such a file.

It should be noted that on the official MTS page subscribers will be able to find updates only for the basic version of the modem software. You can get it by connecting the modem itself to the computer.

If the update installation process does not occur automatically, then you will need to check the following:

  1. Is there a ban on automatic installation? This information can be viewed in the computer settings.
  2. Does the modem see the USB port correctly? Perhaps the detection is not happening correctly.
  3. Also, the ban may be due to the installed anti-virus program. To do this, you will need to temporarily disable your antivirus.
  4. Check the modem for serviceability.

Hello everyone, I’ll tell you about the program Connect Manager from MTS or as it is also called Connection Manager (it’s just in English).

So what is this program? I’ll say right away that don’t even think about deleting this program, it’s better to first think about whether it’s worth doing? The fact is that this Connect Manager is a program that is needed for the operation of the mobile Internet. Without it, there will be no mobile Internet, you understand!

But where did she even come from? Yes, the question is quite normal. The thing is that Connect Manager could install itself while you connected the modem to the computer. Often the modem already has built-in memory, it is very small and the Connect Manager software installer is installed in this memory. That is, this memory is special for him. But why is this necessary, you might think? I will answer, this way you do not need to manually search for and install a program for the modem. Connect Manager will install itself and help you easily set up the Internet from MTS.

Well, did I manage to explain a little what kind of Connect Manager program this is? When I used mobile Internet using a modem, I also had a similar program. Just from another operator, not from MTS. It seems it was also called Internet Manager... Well, it also installed itself as soon as I connected the modem to the computer. Well, after that I launched the manager and connected to the Internet, that is, this process was as easy as possible.

Connect Manager - debriefing

Look, when installing the program it tells you in detail what it is needed for:

Now look, when installing Connect Manager there is a list of drivers that will be installed on your computer:

A bit unclear? I'll explain, if you download Connect Manager from the site, then it is possible that it installs drivers in order to use the mobile Internet using a mobile phone! After all, a mobile phone also has a modem! But in order for Windows to see this modem, you need drivers, alas, it’s impossible without them! But the manager doesn’t know what kind of phone or smartphone you have, so he installs drivers for the most popular phone manufacturers.

Then the manager says that it will be installed in this folder:

This is normal, all programs are installed in Program Files, this is a special folder for this

I had this error during installation:

It’s like it’s impossible to execute DPInst.EXE, I don’t even know what it is! But the fact that this software, these various managers for the Internet, the fact that it is buggy - yes, there is such a thing... Well, I don’t know, but no matter how many times I used these managers, they were all buggy. And in general, it’s as if they were written by some unprofessional programmers

It even took me about three minutes to install the program. Well, I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but other programs installed somehow faster.

After the program was installed, it started and this is what it looks like:

When I clicked on this button:

Then this settings window appeared:

Here you can add a new device and change network settings. In general, in fact, no movement is required from you; after installing this program, Windows should already be able to easily see the phone and the modem in it. Well, or just a modem, if you connected a USB modem.

That is, you will only need to connect to the Internet, if there are difficulties with this, then call technical support, they are obliged to help you! Don’t worry, there’s usually nothing complicated about this - there are millions of mobile Internet users. Therefore, the process of connecting to such an Internet has been simplified as much as possible. However, rather than searching on the Internet for how and what to do, you can call. It’s their problem that they did something wrong that you can’t understand, you need to do it so that it’s clear right away! Well, I think you agree with me!

I also noticed that MTS Connect Manager sits in the tray, here’s the icon it has that is not entirely clear:

The manager has its own process in the manager, this is cmanager.exe:

To open the task manager, right-click on the taskbar and select the manager there!

It is launched from this folder (well, that is, where it is installed):

C:\Program Files (x86)\MTS Connect Manager

Well, I didn't expect this! It turns out that this MTS Connect Manager also installs its own service! Well, look for yourself, in the dispatcher I went to the Services tab and there I clicked the button with the same name Services! And then in the Services window I saw this service:

The service is called MTS Connect Manager mobile equipment installation service (ameisvc), so I double-clicked on it with the mouse and saw this window:

If anything, you can try to disable this service, just select Disabled in the Startup Type and click the Stop button. I did this and it worked:

So if you see the ameisvc.exe process in the task manager, now you know what kind of process it is, it’s from the MTS service!

Well, as you can see, everything is quite fun..

Manager's appearance

In the manager, you can analyze traffic consumption, its speed, how many megabytes received, how many sent:

Here is another picture, it also shows traffic usage statistics:

Other additional features are available:

All these chips are simply sending commands directly to the phone. That is, you can find out how much money you have left in your account if you simply dial a command on your phone, or you can, for example, find out here. In fact, this is the same thing, well, that is, in technical terms, it is the same thing

And here the statistics are kept not of the simple Internet, but of LTE:

Do you know what LTE is? It's just 4G, that is, not 3G, but even faster!

Info about the program:

But the modems for which Connect Manager is intended and in which it is most likely already built-in, here is the first one:

And here's the second one:

But of course there are a lot of them, I just showed this as an example.

I’ll write it again so you can clearly understand. These modems often come with built-in memory, like a flash drive! Only this memory is tiny and can only read information from it, nothing can be written. And all because this memory is specially created for the Connect Manager. So that you plug in the modem > MTS Connect Manager is installed > you quickly connect to the Internet > voila, everything is ready! That's what this memory is for and that's why the program is built into the modem

Well, I hope that everything is now clear with this manager!

How to remove Connect Manager

If you don’t think about using the mobile Internet anymore, then of course yes, it’s better to remove this manager, because it’s of no use. After all, if you don’t use the program, then the process still sits in the manager, but what’s the point in this? An extra process will definitely not speed up Windows!

So, let me remind you that to remove any software from your computer, you can use a tool such as. This is a kind of uninstaller, it will help not only remove the program, but also find all traces of this program in Windows and delete them too! In general, my job is to suggest, and you can think for yourself..

Well, now how to remove all this using the built-in functions of Windows itself! So click Start and select Control Panel there:

If you have Windows 10, then this item is in another menu, to call it, then hold down the Win + X buttons!

Then find the Programs and Features icon and launch it:

A window will open with a list of software, that's all there is, these are all the programs that you have! But don’t you dare delete anything here without a reason! We came here to remove MTS Connect Manager, we find it here and right-click on it and select Delete:

Then a deletion window will appear, click on the Delete button:

Then everything will be quickly deleted, in just a couple of seconds and that’s it, it will be written that the deletion was completed successfully:

Basically everything! BUT, unfortunately, you will also still have drivers for phones. I don’t know, but in principle you don’t have to delete them, that is, you don’t have to worry about the fact that you have them. All the same, believe me, they do not load the system, that is, they lie stupidly like dead weight, taking up a couple of megabytes. Here they are, I have drivers here from Nokia and from Motorola:

And you may also have, for example, from Samsung. In general, don’t worry, they don’t load the CPU, they don’t interfere with the operation of Windows, there are no processes in the manager from these programs, they’re just drivers and that’s all!

By the way, I also had firewood for Samsung... and for LG.. That is, unfortunately, Connect Manager installs the firewood, but when the manager itself is removed, this firewood remains, it is not deleted! I personally think this is a bug...

So, I want to make a mini-conclusion. What happens if you delete MTS Connect Manager:

  • The mobile Internet will most likely disappear, but the Internet connection may remain and with its help you can even connect to the Internet without a manager, especially considering that the drivers, as I understand it, are NOT removed;
  • the modem will no longer be seen by Windows, since the manager installs not only itself but also drivers for the USB modem (well, for all phone manufacturers that have a modem);
  • in principle, there will be no jambs in Windows or glitches after removing the manager; unless the manager, when uninstalled, also deletes what it installed itself - that is, drivers for other manufacturers;

Well, guys, I hope this information was useful to you! Good luck and good mood

The development of technical processes in the field of telecommunications technologies, increasing coverage areas and improving signal levels have contributed to an increase in demand for mobile Internet services, which, with the appropriate equipment, can be used on computers and laptops. To manage wireless modems, you will need to install the MTS Connect Manager utility, without which it will be impossible to work with technical equipment.

In this material we will look at:

  • software capabilities;
  • installation, configuration and subsequent software update;
  • possible errors and ways to correct them.

The small software component includes a number of functions that can be used during everyday work with the Internet:

  1. automatic detection of a wireless modem with subsequent installation of the appropriate drivers;
  2. the ability to manually and automatically change operating modes (2G, 3G, LTE);
  3. intuitive traffic control in the form of graphs and statements for a certain period of time;
  4. system for sending SMS and USSD directly from the program interface (no need to use a mobile phone);
  5. voice calls if appropriate equipment is available.

Although the first version of MTS Connect Manager was released several years ago, the program is in active development status and receives timely updates that add both new functionality and control user security.

How to install MTS Connect Manager on a laptop

The software is freely available and is necessary for stable operation of wireless modems. You can download the utility from the official repositories of the telecommunications operator, or using other authoritative resources. It is recommended to pay attention to the official source, as this guarantees that you will receive the latest version of the software.

Traditional installation:

  • Run the installer file;
  • Select the storage path, the operator recommends using the system disk;
  • Wait for the installation and configuration of all necessary components to complete;
  • Now you can connect the modem and begin further work.

Windows 10 may require you to set it to compatibility mode with earlier versions of the operating system.

How to update Connect Manager MTS

It is not possible to update the Connect Manager MTS software version using basic methods; to do this, you will have to uninstall the old version and install the current update on your laptop or computer. The most effective algorithm for this action is as follows:

  1. Disconnect from the World Wide Web and disconnect the modem from the USB port;
  2. Uninstall the software using basic Windows tools. To do this, go to Control Panel, select the Programs and Features tab. In the menu that appears, find Connect Manager and click on the delete button;
  3. Restart your computer and reinsert the modem into the USB port;
  4. Reinstall the software, after which you will be able to use the Internet.

Connect Manager does not see the MTS modem - what to do?

If the software does not function correctly and the computer does not see the modem, it is necessary to diagnose the software components and equipment. For this:

  • make sure there is a positive balance and traffic;
  • reinstall Connect Manager and turn off the antivirus;
  • try installing the modem in a different USB port. Check if it is detected in the Windows device list;
  • reinstall the modem SIM card.

If the above methods do not help, contact a technical support specialist at your telecommunications operator. This can be done by calling a toll-free phone number, or using the form to send a text request through your personal account or mobile application. Formulate your request in advance and indicate the steps taken. You will then be given instructions to connect to the network.
