Comparison Meizu Pro 7. Wi-Fi is a technology that provides wireless communication for data transfer to close distances between different devices.

Last summer, Meizu has introduced the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus smartphones, which in Russia began to be sold only at the end of the year. Both new items significantly differ not only from other devices of the company, but also from all the models that exist in the market, which is due to the presence of an additional display in both devices from the back side of the case. Between themselves, the new MEIZU smartphones also differ significantly, even if you do not count the sizes: according to the main parameters of the hardware filling. While the younger model is based on the MEDIATEK Helio P25 8-core processor, the Pro 7 Plus version received the most powerful MEDIATEK solution as a platform, a 10-core MediaTek Helio X30 processor, made using 10 nm technology. Among other things, the older model has a lot of random access memory and more volumetric battery. Naturally, as an object for testing, we chose the most technically advanced of two decisions and today we present to your attention a full overview of the new MEIZU Pro 7 Plus's top smartphone.

Contents of delivery

Meizu Pro 7 Plus comes in expensive packaging. The inner cardboard is typed from several boxes size smaller, and all this is enclosed in a solid case of thick plastics. Packaging looks unusual and fresh, surprises at the first acquaintance with the product, which, in fact, is required of it.

The kit consists of a powerful charger with an output current 2 A and a voltage of 5/9/12 V. Also in the set includes a USB cable, a tool for extracting cards and a very practical protective case made of translucent solid plastic, which is easily covered with scratches and cracks.

Appearance and ease of use

Meizu Pro 7 Plus got calm and at the same time stylish, concise design. His only noticeable difference from most modern mobile devices - less rounded corner parts, which is why the huge body looks even more cumbersome, looks like a mini-tablet.

But even more unusually looks like the back of the case: here a miniature second display is embedded in a whole-dollar sprinkle, covered with protective glass on top. The display, by the way, also the sensory (as well as the main one) and reacts to gestures.

The second screen can be used not only to obtain banal notifications about calls, SMS and other events, but also to display contextual information. For example, when listening to music, the player buttons are displayed on this screen and you can control the playback without using the main display. When using the main chamber in this small screen, you can watch as in the mirror, making your own selfie pictures on back Camera. Finally, as unnecessary, an additional screen can be simply disabled.

There are no complaints to the assembly and quality of materials, but due to smooth shiny lacquered surfaces, the housing was pretty marked and slippery. Although the metal surfaces of the posterior wall and the sidewall look like as they are treated with a large skirt, but in fact they are smooth, the surface is smooth and slippery as glass. In addition, the smartphone is too big, even for those who have become accustomed to large modern mobile devices with large displays.

The glass covering the unusual rear screen is covered at the same time and a dual camera and a rather bright LED flash consisting of multi-colored LEDs.

The LED Event Indicator on the front panel is available, but it is familiar to MEIZU smartphones, does not display the battery status, and enters the game only when unread messages or missed calls appear. For Meizu Pro 7 Plus, this is not so relevant, because here it reports in detail a small back display - a certain analogue of the "ALWAYS ON" function of modern OLED screens. However, of course, it is convenient that as this phone is neither putting - notifications will not miss.

At the bottom under the screen, only one button is installed for Meizu, and clickable. It is embedded with the fingerprint scanner of Mtouch (360 degrees of scanning, reading for 0.15 s). If you are inconvenient to use the Meizu control circuit, which implies the execution of different functions on a single, double and long-term press on the central key, you can always resort to the help of the buttons on-screen panel.

The power and volume keys are located on the right face, and there are certain claims to them: they for some reason were deeply drowned in a specially carved bed, so that the buttons are practically not discharged outside the surface of the side face. Press them, of course, it is possible, but it is much more difficult to grop blindly than usual, and see it's not easy to see the profile.

On the opposite face (for some reason, from the very edge, and not along the longitudinal axis; it looks ugly) embedded the connector for setting cards. Dual connector, can take a pair of NaNo-SIM SIM cards, but not designed for MicroSD memory cards.

The upper end is almost empty, here you can find only a hole of the second, auxiliary microphone for the operation of the noise reduction system.

A USB Type-C connector, the main loudspeaker, as well as a 3.5-millimeter audio output on headphones are displayed.

The MEIZU Pro 7 Plus model is available in three different colors: black, golden and silver. Limited circulation also released the version "Black Cosmos". The younger version of Meizu Pro 7 provides a red option, but Meizu Pro 7 Plus is not available in such a color.

Screen

The MEIZU Pro 7 Plus model is equipped with the main super amoled display with 2.5D-glass protective with sloping edges. Screen dimensions are approximately 71 × 126 mm with a diagonal of 5.7 inches. The resolution is high, 2560 × 1440, so that the density of the points is about 518 ppi. The width of the frame around the screens on the sides is 3 mm, indents from above and below have a height of 16 mm.

The display brightness can be configured manually or use automatic settings based on the operation of the external light sensor. Multitouch tests diagnose support for simultaneous touches.

The size of an additional screen located on the back of the housing is 20 × 45 mm, a diagonal is 1.9 inches. The resolution of this screen is 240 × 536, the density of the points is about 307 PPI, that is, there is no speech grain of the image. It is also performed using Amoled technology.

Detailed examination with the use of measuring instruments was conducted by the editor of the "Monitors" and "Projectors and TV" sections Alexey Kudryavtsev. We present his expert opinion on the screen of the sample under study.

The front surface of the screen is made in the form of a glass plate with a mirror-smooth surface resistant to the appearance of scratches. Judging by the reflection of objects, the anti-glare screen properties are no worse than the Google Nexus 7 (2013) screen (hereinafter simply Nexus 7). For clarity, we give a photo on which the white surface is reflected in the screens (left - Nexus 7, on the right - Meizu Pro 7 Plus, then they can be distinguished by size):

The screen at Meizu Pro 7 Plus is the same dark (brightness of photographs 119 in both) and does not have a pronounced shade. Two of the reflected objects in the Meizu Pro 7 Plus screen is very weak, it suggests that there is no air interval between the screen layers. Due to the smaller number of boundaries (type of glass / air) with highly different refractive refractive rates, the screens without a balloon look better in conditions of intense exterior illumination, but their repair in the event of a cracked exterior glass costs much more expensive, since it is necessary to change the entire screen. On the outer surface of the MEIZU Pro 7 screen, there is a special oleophobic (fat-repellent) coating (effective, better than Nexus 7), so traces of fingers are removed significantly easier, and appear at a lower rate than in the case of conventional glass.

When displaying a white field to full screen and with manual control, its maximum value was 415 kD / m². It is also necessary to take into account the fact that in this case the smaller the white area on the screen, the brighter, that is, the actual maximum brightness of white areas will be almost always higher than the specified value. For example, when the black field is displayed on one half of the screen (and white on the other), the brightness of the white reaches 520 cd / m². As a result, readability in the afternoon in the sun should be on good level. The minimum brightness value is 4 cd / m², that is, the reduced level of brightness without problems allows the device to use even in complete darkness. It works automatic brightness adjustment over the illumination sensor (it is located to the right of the front of the front camera). The operation of this function depends on the position of the brightness adjustment slider. If it is 100%, then in complete darkness, the auturance function reduces the brightness of up to 70 kD / m² (blatant), in conditions of an artificial light of an office (about 550 LCs) sets 280 kD / m² (normally), in a very bright environment (corresponds Lighting with clear day outdoors, but without direct sunlight - 20,000 LCs or a little more) The brightness rises to 415 kD / m² (to the maximum, and necessary). If the slider is about 50%, then the values \u200b\u200bare as follows: 4, 190 and 415 kD / m² (the first value is too low), and if the regulator is 0% - 4, 75 and 415 kD / m² (the first and second value are underestimated). The result did not quite fit us, so we installed the slider by about 60% and obtained the following values: 10, 215 and 415 kD / m² (normally). It turns out that the auto-adjustment feature of the brightness is adequately and allows the user to customize its work under individual requirements.

At any brightness level, there is a significant modulation with a frequency of approximately 60 or 240 Hz. Figure below shows the dependences of the brightness (vertical axis) from time to time (horizontal axis) for several brightness setting values:

It can be seen that at the maximum and average brightness of the modulation amplitude is not very large, in the end there is no visible flicker. However, with a strong decrease in brightness, modulation appears with a large relative amplitude, it can already be seen in the test for the presence of a stroboscopic effect or simply with the quick eye movement. Depending on individual sensitivity, such flicker may cause increased fatigue.

This screen uses the Super Amoled matrix - an active matrix on organic LEDs. The full color image is created using subpixels of three colors - red (R), green (G) and blue (b), but red and blue subpixels are twice as fewer, which can be denoted as RGBG. This is confirmed by a microfotography fragment:

For comparison, you can familiarize yourself with the micrographic gallery of the screens used in mobile technology.

On the fragment above, you can count 4 green subpixels, 2 red (4 halves) and 2 blue (1 whole and 4 quarters), while repeating these fragments, you can lay out the entire screen without breaking and overlap. For such matrices, Samsung introduced the name Pentile RGBG. Screen resolution The manufacturer believes on green subpixels, on two others it will be two times lower. The location and shape of the subpixels in this embodiment is close to the case of the Samsung Galaxy S4 screen and some other newer samsung devices (And not only) with AMOLED screens. This version of Pentile RGBG is better than an old with red squares, rectangles of blue and strips of green subpixels. Nevertheless, some irregularities of contrasting borders and other artifacts are still present. However, due to very high permission, they only minimally affect image quality.

At the same time we give a fragment of the micrograph of the rear screen:

In this case, the subpixels of three colors already equal.

Let's return to the main screen. It is characterized by excellent viewing angles. True, white color with deviation even in small angles alternately acquires a light blue and green and pinkish shade, but the black color remains just black under any corners. It is so black that the contrast parameter in this case is not applicable. For comparison, we give the photos on which the MEIZU Pro 7 Plus screens (profile Adaptive) And the second comparison member is displayed the same images, while the brightness of the screens is initially installed about 200 kD / m², and the color balance on the camera is forcibly switched to 6500 K.

White field:

Note good uniformity of brightness and color tone of the white field.

And test picture:

The colors are unnecessarily saturated, and the color balance of the screens is clearly different. Recall that photo can not To serve as a reliable source of information about the quality of color reproduction and is given only for conditional visual illustration. In particular, a pronounced reddish shade of white and gray fields, present in the photographs of the MEIZU Pro 7 Plus screen, is visually visually visual, which is confirmed by hardware tests using a spectrophotometer. The reason is that the spectral sensitivity of the camera's matrix inaccurately coincides with this characteristic of human vision.

Photography above received after selecting profile Adaptive In the screen settings - apparently, this profile is selected by default. Four profiles four:

They differ in color balance and color coverage. Immediately express the opinion that you need to choose once and forever the second profile, Standard mode, It is in it that the colors saturated are increasingly less in order:

Now at an angle of about 45 degrees to the plane and to the side of the screen. White field:

The brightness at an angle in both screens has decreased noticeably (in order to avoid a strong dimming, the shutter speed is increased in comparison with previous photos), but in the case of Meizu Pro 7 Plus, the brightness drop is expressed much less. As a result, with formally the same brightness, the Meizu Pro 7 Plus screen visually looks much more bright (in comparison with LCD screens), since the mobile device screen often has to be viewed at least at a small angle.

And test picture:

It can be seen that the colors did not change much of both screens and the brightness of the MEIZU Pro 7 PLUS smartphone at an angle is noticeably higher. Switching the status of the matrix elements is performed almost instantly, but a step of approximately 17 ms width can be present on the switch front (which corresponds to the screen update frequency in 60 Hz). For example, it looks like a brightness dependence on time when moving from black to white and back:

In some conditions, the presence of such a step can lead to loops stretching for moving objects. However, dynamic scenes in films on OLED screens are characterized by high definition and even some "dongy" movements.

Built according to 32 points with an equal interval in the numerical value of the shade of a gray gamma curve showed that there is no significant dive in the lights or in the shadows. The index of the approximating power function is 2.38, which is slightly higher than the standard value of 2.2, while the real gamma curve is almost not deviated from the power dependence:

Recall that in the case of OLED screens, the brightness of the image fragments is dynamically changing in accordance with the nature of the displayed image - decreases for bright images in general. As a result, the obtained dependence of brightness from the shade (gamma curve) is most likely not a little corresponds to the gamma curve of the static image, since the measurements were carried out with a consistent output of shades of gray almost full screen.

Color coverage in the case of profile Full color mode Very wide, in the green area goes beyond the borders of DCI-P3 coverage:

In profile Adaptive modecoverage is a bit already, it is almost equal to DCI-P3:

When choosing a profile Photocoverage is pressed to the Adobe RGB boundaries:

When choosing a profile Standard mode Coverage is compressed to SRGB boundaries:

No correction spectra components are very well divided:

In case of profile Standard mode With the maximum correction, the components of the colors are already noticeably mixed up to each other:

Note that on screens with a wide color coverage (without appropriate correction), the color of conventional images optimized for SRGB devices look unnaturally saturated. Hence the recommendation: In most cases, watch movies, photos and everything is better when choosing a profile Standard modeand only if the photo is made on installing Adobe RGB, it makes sense to switch the profile on Photo. Similarly, profile Adaptive mode It is appropriate when watching the video with DCI-P3 coverage adopted in digital cinema.

By default, the color temperature of the white and gray fields is high, about 7500 K, but in the screen settings there is a color temperature adjustment slider:

The adjustment step is about 200 k, and in the position, as in the picture above, the balance becomes better - the color temperature is closer to 6500 K, while on the meaning of the gray scale, this parameter changes not very strongly, which improves the visual perception of the balance of colors. The deviation from the spectrum of absolutely black body (ΔE) remains below 10 units, which is considered a good indicator for the consumer device:

(The darkest areas of the gray scale in most cases can not be considered, since the balance of colors does not matter, and the measurement error of the color characteristics on the low brightness is large.)

Let's summarize. The screen has a sufficiently high maximum brightness and has excellent anti-reflective properties, so the device without any problems can be used outside the room even summer sunny day. In complete dark, brightness can be reduced to a comfortable value. It is permissible to use the automatic brightness adjustment mode that works adequately. The advantages of the screen should include an effective oleophobic coating, as well as close to SRGB color coverage (when choosing the right profile) and a good color balance. At the same time we remind about the general advantages of OLED screens: true black color (if nothing is reflected in the screen), noticeably less than that of the LCD, the drop in the brightness of the image at a look at an angle. The disadvantages include modulating screen brightness. In users who are particularly sensitive to flicker, due to this, increased fatigue may occur. Nevertheless, in general, the quality of the screen is high.

Cameras

The MEIZU Pro 7 Plus front camera uses a sensor with a resolution of 16 MP and a five-element lens with a diaphragm F / 2.0, without its own flash and autofocus. ARCSOFT and Face After Effect, smoothing skin texture, etc. can be applied to the pictures that smoothed the skin texture and so on.

The main camera uses two modules with a resolution of 12 and 12 megapixel. One color module (SONY IMX386 sensor), another monochrome. The main six-element lens has an aperture F / 2.0.

As usual, in the settings there are automatic and professional shooting modes. In manual mode, you can change the exposure, photosensitivity (up to ISO 1600), the method of exposable, focus options, white balance. There is also a scale of exposure and setting up saturation and contrast. And here full opportunity Saving snapshots in RAW is missing here. It is logical that if there is a monochrome module at the camera, there is a separate h / w shooting mode. Also implemented by the already familiar "wide diaphragm" regime with blurred background. It turns out, in principle, not bad.

Another unusual can be noted the possibility of doing self-snapshots using the main chamber: a small back screen works as a viewfinder. Thus, the quality of the front chamber (not having, among other things, its own flash) is not particularly important for self-shooting.

The camera can shoot video in 4K and 1080p permissions, but no mode 60 FPS. The stabilization function is, but does not work with a resolution of 4k. In general, with video filming in 4k, the camera copes well, but without stabilization, the shooting on the go from hands is useless. With good lighting, the sharpness is normal, the detailing too, to the color rendering and the balance sheet of white claims. Autofocus, though, is constantly rebuilt, and sometimes without a reason, it spoils shooting. Sound accompaniment of very high quality, noise cancellation system does not make any distorting noise, copes with its responsibilities adequately.

The chamber can be called good, but no more. With basic scenes, it copes well, but in general plans you can find the blur zones, especially at the edges, and the artifacts of software processing are started with lack of lighting. Snapshots as a whole are slightly closed, and this effect is immediately striking. It seems that the program did not make a little. However, with most plots the camera copes well and is quite suitable for documentary shooting.

Telephone part and communication

The LTE WorldMode Cat.10 integrated in MediaTek Helio X30 supports 4G LTE Category 10 networks, which theoretically must provide maximum data load speed up to 450 Mbps and transmission up to 150 Mbps.

The smartphone supports two of the three LTE FDD - band 3 and 7 frequency ranges in Russia, but does not support the range of 800 MHz (Band 20), better than others meet the requirements of non-registered areas. Within the urban traits of the Moscow region, the device behaves confidently, the quality of receiving the signal in wireless networks No complaints cause.

Also, the smartphone supports both wi-Fi band (2.4 and 5 GHz) and Bluetooth version 4.2, but module NFC. There is no, and in the century of the widespread spread of non-contact payment technologies is unforgivable. The USB Type-C connector supports the connection of external devices in USB OTG mode. The data transfer rate between the computer (when connected to the USB 3.1 Type-C ports) and the smartphone through the cable is about 30 MB / s.

The navigation module works with GPS (with A-GPS), and from the domestic GLONASS, and from the Chinese Beidou. The first satellites at a cold start are detected quickly, during the first minute. Magnetic compass required for navigation softwareThe device has.

The telephone application supports Smart Dial, that is, during the dialing of the phone number immediately, the search first letters in contacts are immediately performed. Methods of sorting and displaying contacts are standard for android interface, Sorting contacts is possible by last name or name, the same with the display of the contact of the caller. There is a complete ability to record telephone conversations from the line.

There is no complaints to the conversational dynamics, the sound is loud, clean, rich and pleasant for rumor, the voice of a familiar interlocutor is well picking up and find out that there is no distorting noise. An additional microphone is for the operation of a noise reduction system, which with its duties copes adequately. Vibrations are quite tangible, there are no complaints about it.

The platform supports active expectation of both SIM cards in 3G / 4G at the same time. That is, the SIM card may be active in the 3G / 4G network, and not only in 2G, even if another card is assigned to transfer data to 4G.

The choice between two SIM cards to make a call and send SMS traditionally for Meizu devices is carried out only at the time of the connection, it is impossible to do in advance in the menu, you can only set the card to transfer the data card in the settings. Smartphone provides two SIM cards according to Dual Standard SIM Dual. Standby.

Software and multimedia

As a software platform in Meizu Pro 7 Plus, the Android version 7.0 is used with the ability to update via air (OTA). On top of it installed its own brand shell of Flyme version 6.1.

In mid-November, Meizu officially announced that he had passed the certification procedure in Google and its new smartphones will be supplied with pre-installed Google services (Google Mobile Services). Naturally, we are talking about the devices released for the international market, and not for the internal market of China. Among the certified models there are our heroes Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus, so now Icon signed Play Market Proudly bangs on the first screen. A year ago, even in officially acquired through mymeizu.ru, smartphones had to install this application store manually through a specially added HOT Apps application. Now it is gone.

Otherwise, the constant users of MEIZU mobile technology will not find anything new here. The shell is maximum cleaned, without familiar to chinese firmware Blowing from countless sections and subsections, concise, fast, visually attractive. Naturally, you can change the topic of registration, configure the panel of the buttons at your discretion, use gestures, but you can do without all this. By the way, in the smartphone is pre-installed alternative keyboard Touchpal. the newest version 2017, which has a lot of visual shells and additional features.

For the sound quality in headphones here is the Cirrus Logic CS43130 DAC. With the sound of Meizu is always all good, but new flagship It sounds perfectly perfect. Immediately noticeably the superiority of his bright, rich, thick and bass, powerful sound over the other modern flagships. For example, no matter how many LG signs the charms of the sound system in its V30 +, Meizu Pro 7 Plus, the sound is generally more interesting. By the way, the same applies to the main loudspeaker: there is no pair of stereo speakers, but still the smartphone sounds very impressive.

To play music, a familiar regular audio player is used with an equalizer (5-way) with presets. The voice recorder demonstrates a very high sensitivity, an additional microphone with noise cancellation function eliminates the surrounding noises, but there is no FM radio in the smartphone.

Performance

The MEIZU Pro 7 Plus hardware platform is built on Soc MediaTek Helio X30 (MT6799 Deca Core). The configuration of this chip includes 10 processor nuclei in three clusters. The main consists of two Cortex-A73 cores with a frequency of up to 2.6 GHz, the second has received four Cortex-A53 cores with a frequency of up to 2.2 GHz, and the youngest has four Cortex-A35 cores with a frequency of up to 1.9 GHz. As a GPU, PowerVR 7XTP-MP4 with a frequency of 800 MHz. This is the first ten-tenary SOC, produced on a 10-nanometer technical process. The amount of RAM is 6 GB, the built-in flash memory can be 64 or 128 GB. About 3.1 GB of RAM and a little more than 50 GB of 64 GB of repository remain free. Memory cards are not supported.

MEDIATEK has introduced its new flagship one-year Helio X30 system that last spring during the MWC 2017 exhibition. MEDIATEK representatives declare that, compared with the new SOC HELIO X30, the new Soc Helio X30 has 35% more efficient and consumes 50% less . The solution is able to decode 10-bit 4K2K video formats with the support of HDR10. Helio X30 contains two 14-bit image processing processors, which allows it to work with dual cameras resolution up to 16 megapixel. The single-grip system supports up to 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM with a frequency of up to 1866 MHz and the UFS 2.1 flash memory interface.

As for the real outcome of testing, they, unfortunately, showed that the new flagship solution MediaTek lags behind all indicators from the top modern solutions of other manufacturers, such as Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, Hisilicon Kirin 970 and Samsung Exynos 8895. In principle, the novelty is not It was able to overtake in tests even outdated Snapdragon 821, and about irrehable power consumption, with which everything is not so smooth, as described by the creators from MediaTek, will tell below the tests of autonomy.

Of course, in real scenarios, the use of SOC confidently copes with any tasks, including demanding games.

Testing in integrated tests Antutu and Geekbench:

All the results obtained by us when testing the smartphone in the most recent versions of popular benchmarks, we are conveniently reduced to the table. The table usually adds several other devices from various segments, also tested on similar recent versions of benchmarks (this is done only for a visual assessment of the resulting dry numbers). Unfortunately, within the same comparison, it is impossible to submit results from different versions Benchmarks, therefore, many decent and actual models remain "behind the scenes" - due to the fact that they at one time passed the "obstacle course" on previous versions of test programs.

Heatons

Below is the heat rear Surfaces obtained after 10 minutes of battery test operation in the GFXBenchMark program:

Heating is higher in the center and closer to the right edge, which, apparently, corresponds to the location of the SOC chip, but overall the entire rear surface of the smartphone is strongly heated. According to the heat-chamber, the maximum heating was 41 degrees (at an ambient temperature of 24 degrees), it is the average heating in this test for modern smartphones.

To test "omnivities" when playing video (including support for various codecs, containers and special capabilities, such as subtitles), we used the most common formats that constitute the bulk of the content available on the content network. Note that for mobile devices it is important to have the support of hardware decoding of videos at the chip level, since to process modern options due to the processor nuclei are most often impossible. Also, it is not necessary to wait from the mobile device of decoding everything, since the leadership in flexibility belongs to PC, and no one is going to challenge it. All results are reduced to the table.

Further testing of video playback performed Alexey Kudryavtsev.

Apparently, this unit does not support DisplayPort Alt Mode for USB Type-C - output of the image and sound to the external device when connected to uSB port. Work in this mode we were tested together with (company). Therefore, I had to restrict ourselves to testing the display of video files to the screen of the device itself. To do this, we used a set of test files with one division by the frame with an arrow and a rectangle (see "Methods for testing the playback devices and displaying the video signal. Version 1 (for mobile devices)"). Screenshots with shutter speed in 1 C helped to determine the nature of the output of video files with various parameters: resolution ranged (1280 per 720 (720p), 1920 at 1080 (1080p) and 3840 at 2160 (4K) pixels) and frame rate (24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 frames / s). In tests, we used the MX Player video player in the "hardware" mode. Test results are reduced to the table: No

oK not 720/24p. excellent not

Note: If in both columns Uniformity and Pass Green estimates are exhibited, it means that, most likely, when viewing the films of artifacts caused by uneven alternation and passage of frames, or will not be seen at all, or their number and notice will not affect the preservation of viewing. Red markers point to possible problemsrelated to playback of relevant files.

By the output criterion, the quality of video files on the screen of the device itself is good, since in most cases frames (or frames) can be output with more or less uniform intervals and without frames. When playing video files with a resolution of 1920 to 1080 (1080p) and in the case of a landscape orientation, the image of the video file is displayed inscribed in the screen boundaries. At the same time, the clarity of the picture is high, but not ideal, since it is not anywhere from interpolation to the screen resolution. However, it is possible for the sake of the experiment to switch to one to one to one pixels, the interpolation will not be, but the features of Pentile will be shown: the vertical world through the pixel will be in the mesh, and the horizontal is a little greenish. The latter is only for the test world, there are no described artifacts on real frames. The brightness range appears on the screen corresponds to the actual range, except in the shadows somewhere a pair of shades merge with black, but all gradations are displayed in lights.

Battery life

A non-removable rechargeable battery installed in Meizu Pro 7 Plus has a capacity of 3500 mA · h. This is quite a large amount of today's standards, but, as often happens with the top chips MediaTek, even such a battery did not have enough not only to set the autonomy records, but also to demonstrate the average level. Against the background of the remaining modern flagships using other top platforms, Meizu, resolved by the Union with MediaTek, lost: the smartphone demonstrates quite low indicators in terms of autonomy in all tests without exception. This is not the problem of the failure level, but competing flagship decisions on this parameter look much better.

Testing was traditionally carried out at the usual level of power consumption without using the functions of energy saving.

Uninterrupted reading in the Moon + Reader program (with a standard, bright theme) with a minimum comfortable level of brightness (the brightness was set per 100 cd / m²) with autolist, it lasted to the full battery discharge of only 14 hours, and with unlimited viewing video in high quality (720p) With the same brightness level through the Wi-Fi home network, the device operates not more than 10 hours. In 3D-games mode, the smartphone can work for up to 3.5 hours.

The smartphone supports quick charging that provides charging device from zero to 50% in 30 minutes. Completely from the complete network adapter, the device was charged for only 1.5 hours with a current of 1.5 and at a voltage of 9 V. Wireless charging, the smartphone does not support.

Outcome

The smartphone has long been represented in the Russian retail, and initially he cost quite a flagship that contrasted with ordinary available smartphones This manufacturer. But to the New Year holidays Meizu made a luxury gift to all fans of the brand, reducing the price at once by 10 thousand rubles. Thus, the younger version (from 64 GB flash memory) Meizu Pro 7 Plus officially fell from 45 to 35 thousand rubles, and the older (128 GB) Meizu Pro 7 Plus - from 50 to 40 thousand.

In general, Meizu has released a decent device with a good screen and excellent sound, but in many MEIZU Pro 7 PLUS parameters is inferior to the modern flagships of Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, Apple iPhone 8 Plus and Huawei Mate 10 Pro. First, the quality of the cameras does not reach the top level, which confirm the results of the popular Dxomark test, where Meizu Pro 7 Plus is different flagmators. Secondly, a very dubious choice was made in favor of a voracious and not so productive platform MediaTek Helio X30, which could not overtake any of the modern flagship Soc in tests. As a result, the record holder in speed, the smartphone is not, and the level of autonomy does not at best of him. We add to this a fairly limited set of communication capabilities that does not include support for NFC and LTE FDD Band 20. At the same time, the smartphone is definitely interesting to its additional rear screen with a fairly wide functionality that allows you to shoot high-quality selfie to the main double chamber.

Literally just that Meizu announced a couple of new flagship smartphones Pro line. Devices will be available at the beginning of the next month. In addition to different displays, Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus have a number of other differences. In this comparison, we will analyze these gadgets to understand the difference between them.

If you are a brand fan or just have an interest in the new items in the smartphone market, you will be interested to read to our conclusions.

Differences screens

Meizu Pro 7 is equipped with a 5.2-inch samoled display with pixel density 423 dots per inch and FHD-resolution, while Pro 7 Plus boasts a 5.7-inch amoled panel with QHD-resolution and pixel density 518 dpi. Thus, on a more compact model, the picture will not be as a clear, although the ratio of the contrast is the same on both devices 10 000: 1. The maximum brightness on the 7-kE is 350 yarns, and at 7 Plus - 430 NIT.

As for the additional screen, these flagships received 1.9-inch touchpadswhich can work when the phone is in standby mode. In this regard, both devices are completely identical to each other.

Filling

There are two versions of MEIZU Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus smartphones. The model with a 5.2-inch screen was released in two modifications, which, in essence, differ in processors and the amount of integrated memory. A version with a 5.7-inch display appeared on store shelves only with different amounts of ROM on board. The new Pro 7 can be purchased with the MediaTek Helio P25 and 64 GB of the integrated memory in the basic configuration and MediaTek Helio X30 with a twice large amount of ROM.

In addition, the Pro 7 start model, which runs on the Helio P25 processor, is equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, while Wi-Fi 802.11ac boasts more expensive. Meizu Pro 7 Plus received a quick Wi-Fi 802.11ac wireless module. All versions without exception are on board Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS and USB Type-C 3.1.

The younger model is equipped with a non-removable battery for 3000 mAh with a quick charging of MCharge 3.0, while the older is 3500 mAh with a quick charging of the fourth generation MCharge. We still have to find out how quickly the batteries are charged through these technologies.

To note, in the case of 5.2-inch Pro 7, the user receives a dual-core graphics processor MALI-T880MP2, and Pro 7 Plus is completed with a quad-core PowerVR 7XTP-MT4 accelerator.

conclusions

Unfortunately, neither Meizu Pro 7 nor Pro 7 Plus is protected from water. Inside both smartphones is relatively old Bluetooth 4.2, and not 5.0, like many flagships of other brands.

The new flagships of Meizu are even devoid of the NFC module, which is necessary for the operation of mobile payments. Moreover, the slot for the microSD memory card is also not. The disadvantages also include the use of old EMMC 5.1 memory, which was acquired by the base model 5.2-inch phone.

It pleases the fact that these devices are on board a USB Type-C port, support for two Nano SIM cards, a modern fingerprint scanner and Cirrus Logic CS43130 audio chip. Familiar to all the audio jack on the spot. From this we can conclude that the sound on the Pro 7 flagship series will be excellent.

Introduction

MEIZU PRO 7 smartphone is the youngest version of the flagship device PRO 7 Plus. Despite the similar design, the presence of the same additional screens and cameras, the devices are still characterized by chipsets, diagonal and resolution of displays, type and volume of built-in memory, the volume of RAM and, naturally, dimensions. On my subjective look, the decision is somewhat strange: it was easier and more efficient to do as they did in Sony with XZ1 and XZ1 compact models. Let me remind you that there are gadgets globally differ only to the enabarits of the case and the screen resolution.

Cases in the Chinese company are coming, apparently, very well, so it allows themselves to put high prices for some devices. In particular, on Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus. The first gadget will cost you at 36,000 rubles, and the second is 45,000 rubles (RRTs). However, if you try, you can find new products exactly 10,000 rubles cheaper, and from official deliveries.

This material is only about features pro. 7 and Pro 7 Plus.

Design, dimensions, control elements

If we talk about how the two smartphones it is more convenient to use, then, of course, the first place will take Pro 7 with compact sizes. The gadget is perfectly in hand due to a small width of 70 mm, and to get the top border of the screen has become more comfortable due to a height of 147 mm. Thickness relative to Pro 7 Plus remained the same - 7.3 mm.

The front panel is protected by glass 2.5D, and the rest of the housing is made of durable metal. The antennas were located along the edge of the upper and lower ends. Such a solution allowed not only to use the all-metal case, but also to give the back panel an unusual appearance. The glass is oleophobic coating, quality above average.

MEIZU PRO 7 is available in three color solutions: gold (back panel, and "face" white), black and red ("face" black). Of course, the smartphone in red looks most advantageous - I advise you to look at this color: now black and white devices are reigning on the market, which is sad.

To the touch, the back cover of the rough, out of the hands does not slip. During testing, no scratch appeared - a strong kid. By the way, everything is also good with the assembly. It's not a couple of Apple iPhone 8 Plus, which has already become a node of the front panel.

On the front part of Meizu Pro 7 - sensors, camera, indicator of missing events, spoken speaker. The speaker is loud, it sounds clean, the timbre is closer to low frequencies.

The bottom is the standard mechanical button with a built-in fingerprint scanner. Works on the touch "Back".

On the lower end - speaker speaker, Type-C connector, microphone and headphone jack 3.5 mm. And on the top - a lonely additional microphone.

The power button and the volume keys, the volume adjustment - on the right, on the left - the metal slot for two Nano SIM cards. There was no place for the memory card - this is not necessary for anyone? ..

On my subjective view, the displacer is almost useless, at least before the software update, where all notifications should appear with detailed information.

Display

Meizu Pro 7 uses a screen whose diagonal is 5.2 inches. The physical size of the display Pro 7 - 70.5x125 mm, a frame from above - 16 mm, from below - 16.5, on the right and on the left - about 3 mm. There is an anti-reflective coating.

The resolution of the Meizu Pro 7 - FullHD display, that is, 1080x1920 points, density - 423 pixels per inch. The matrix is \u200b\u200bmade by Samsung - Superamoled. The so-called Pentile effect is completely invisible, the density decides!

Maximum white brightness - 340 kD / m2 (official data - 350). Contrast - 10 000: 1.

White line is the target we are trying to achieve. Yellow line - actual screen data. You can see that we are practically directly above the target curve at the values \u200b\u200bof from 0 to 100%. This means that with each value, the image is somewhat cross. Yellow line - in fact, the average amount of red, green and blue.

The average gamma value is perfect - 2.18.

Judging by the level of levels, blue color in excess, and the red is shortened.

The temperature does not "jump."

Judging by the diagram, the data obtained is much higher than the SRGB triangle, especially in the green zone.

Almost all points of gray are located outside the radius Deltae \u003d 10, which indicates that other shades will be present in gray colors.

The viewing angles are maximum, under certain slopes of the screen, the picture is slightly green.

In the settings, you can choose one of the four modes: adaptive, standard, photo and full color. I tested the first mode.

Various screen modes

Corners review

Read about the additional screen in the Pro 7 Plus material.

Battery

This model uses a non-removable battery with a capacity of 3000 mAh (lithium-polymer). The manufacturer does not lead any official numbers.

The smartphone calmly "lives" full light day (for winter it is more relevant to write "up to 20 - 22 hours") with all the included services and applications.

If you test only video playback (HD, maximum brightness), then the smartphone sits after 15 hours. This is a very good indicator. For example, Pro 7 Plus "revolves" the same video is about 13 hours. The Pro 7 toys is also all good - more than 7 hours.

Included you will find fast charging, so 100% of the charge Meizu Pro 7 will receive approximately an hour with a small one.

Communication capabilities

Here is about the same situation as with Pro 7 Plus: Support LTE CAT 6 Band 1/3/5/7/20, two SIM cards. In this case, Wi-Fi does not "see" the standard of the speakers, and there is no BDS in navigation. NFC chip is still missing. The reception of the signal is stable, the problems did not notice. Sensitivity decent.

Memory

RAM in the model Pro 7 4 GB LPDDR4 with optimized power consumption. The speed is the average - 4500 MB / s. Included memory only 64 GB, and you cannot put a memory card here. Reading speed - 196 MB / s, and recording - 228 MB / s. It should be noted that the speed of the built-in EMMC Pro 7 memory is higher than the speed of the UFS memory in Pro 7 Plus. Or application glitch, or "curve" Sample Pro 7 Plus.

Cameras

In the introduction, I wrote that in this material I will tell only about the differences of Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus. Cameras are completely the same, so I send you to the Pro 7 Plus review in the "Cameras" section.

Performance

Smartphone pro. 7 is not equipped with the most new and not the smallest chipset MediaTek Helio P25. However, it has been created for 16 nm technology with finfet transistors, nuclei of 8, and clock frequency Each is up to 2.5 GHz. Arm Mali-T880 is responsible for the graph. In addition, it is worth noting that the Pro 7 uses IMagiQ technology to process photos and video. It allows you to make a video more stable (digital "stub"), reduce noise, improve the quality of the final result.

In the Antutu test, the smartphone is gaining 65,000 points, which is quite normal. This is not a record at all, but the processor can easily launch almost all toys. Glitches, brakes and microlags are absent.

From the point of view of the software here, everything is calm: Google Android version 7, Flyme 6.1.3.0g shell. I do not like the branded UI because of too simple design and a small number of interesting chips. It seems to me that it is easier to abandon Flyme in favor of the "naked" Android, given that "out of the box" you still do not receive Google services, since to begin with, they need to be found in the local AppStore, and then install it. By the way, if you go to Google Play. - Settings, then in the "Device Certification" section will be written "Not Certified".

Multimedia

The Pro 7 speaker for music output sounds a little quieter than the Pro 7 Plus speaker. In addition, it is not so bass. As for the musical component, then traditionally Meizu in its top devices offers separate DACs. This time it is a 32-bit Cirrus Logic CS43130 with a built-in headphone amplifier. It provides:

  • Output power up to 30 MW per channel with 32 ohm load or up to 5 MW per channel with a load of 600 ohms!
  • Dynamic range of 130 dB
  • Nonlinear distortion coefficient + noise -108
  • 384 kHz sampling frequency

The sound is relatively loud, at least, the big "ears" must rock. Good quality. However, I can not allocate something unusual.

Conclusion

As always, there is no complaints about the quality of complaints: a good metal smartphone with a convenient grip and pleasant materials are the main advantages of Pro 7.

The advantages can also be attributed to the SUPERAMOLED matrix, cameras, speed and smart interface, music chip.

If we talk about disadvantages, they are almost no, but only if you buy a smartphone Meizu Pro 7 for 27,000 - 30 000 rubles. Otherwise, it is worth talking about the absence of NFC, optical stabilization in the chamber, about a simple diaphragm F / 2.0, not the most successful arrangement of the additional screen and its functionality.

However, in general, Pro 7 is a good apparatus for amoled lovers and double cameras.

Competitors:

  • Honor 9.. The cost begins from 22,000 rubles. Within 4/64 GB of memory, two cameras, a battery with 3200 mAh and 8 nuclei from Huawei;
  • Xiaomi Mi6.. Price - 30 000 rubles. Cool gadget, almost out of competition;
  • ASUS Zenfone 4.. Costs about 30 000 rubles. Two cameras - "Shirik" and ordinary. Not quite suitable due to the diagonal of the screen;
  • Huawei P10. You can find from 30,000 rubles. Compact and thin smartphone with chamber.

You can give a few more, but I believe that these are quite enough.

At the price of about 27,000 rubles Meizu Pro 7 is interesting, however, with a greater cost above the purchase of this device, it is necessary to think prey.

Meizu Pro 6 Plus was announced at the end of November 2016, attracted a lot of attention: best screenThe best camera among all MEIZU smartphones. In short, this is the smartphone that Meizu lovers, but in the summer of 2017, the already updated model Meizu Pro 7 Plus is released and the question arises: what is better Pro 6 Plus or Pro 7 Plus? We will understand the closer, whether all new models are really better than their predecessors.

Installation of devices

At first glance, the package is worthy of flagship devices, which you can not say about Pro 6 Plus. Pro 7 Plus supplies in a black, beautiful and expensive rectangular box with the Pro 7 Plus logo in the center from the end of the box. The inner component of the box includes several small boxes packed in a plastic case. The Box of the Pro 6 Plus is more like a more budget version: a square plastic box covered in a muddy-black color with the PRO 6 Plus logo on top of the box.

A set of both devices includes a quick charger with output 2a and voltage 5/9/12 B, USB cable with Type-C connector, key clip in the form of the Flyme icon (the official shell of smartphones manufactured by Meizu) to extract sim- Maps and documentation. The Pro 7 Plus kit also includes a transparent plastic case.

Screen: Tell whose image of high-quality.

The first thing that throws into the eyes when comparing smartphones is displays. The device's matrix was engaged in Samsung, which released Superamoled's long-faced screens. Frequent problem AMOLED displays - screen glare in the sun, for this mease developers installed an anti-reflective coating in their own models, which prevents glare from the sun and other light sources

In Pro 6 Plus, a display with a diagonal is 5.7 inches when resolving the QuadHD screen (2560 × 1440 points). A similar display is used in Pro 7 Plus. If you do not go into numbers, then the color rendering on the PRO 6 Plus looks much better: the white color of Pro 7 Plus looks greenish, lifeless, opposite the PRO 6 Plus, the same white colors look clearer, but a little bit alone in red, which is only possible to see perhaps only Single cases.

The brightness of the screens of both devices is the same, differences in the fact that the Pro 7 Plus minimum brightness is less than that of Pro 6 Plus. In the realities, these conditions will not greatly affect the reading at night, so both smartphones will fit lovers to read from the smartphone at night.

Cameras

The main question is today: "Where is the camera better?". The kit, the device screen and the creation history are not interested in the buyer, most of the phone are looking for a phone, the camera will make the user's instagram popular, and Utyub - trend, so the most important comparison will be a comparison of the photo and video chips of smartphones.

The main camera of both devices is equipped with Sony - IMX386 sensor, the optics of which consists of 6 lenses and a diaphragm F / 2.0 with optical stabilization. Frontal cameras for 5MP in both devices and remove the average well: there are effects of retouching, which are suitable for girls, and the autofocus has not yet been delivered, but without him selfie get good. More interesting basic cameras, which will be talked further.

Camera Pro 6 Plus is one of the best cameras Mase phones. The phone is equipped with a 12-meter camera with a 4-axis optical stabilization that creates miracles. Previously, most of the MEIZU smartphones with a worsening of illumination, the snapshots turned out to be greased, which were obtained only with the third, and even with the fifth attempt in decent quality. All who waited for the corrections of this shortage - waited. Meizu Pro 6 with optical stabilization can be removed with poor light, snapshots are good with a greater probability, in the dark little noise and video stabilization affected the positive side, which will talk about later.

About 7 plus is also equipped with an optical stabilization, but this is not the main feature. The main chamber of the device uses two modules with a resolution of 12PM and 12MP, one module of which is color, and the other is monochrome. The main chief of the smartphone is Selfie and here front-camera. All because the phone is equipped with a small screen on the back of the device that can work as a display for photo-video shooting, which will help to make selfie in high quality with the least effort.

Video filming of both devices also on high level: Cameras have the ability to shoot in 4K resolution, but without mode 60 FPS and optical stabilization. Optical stabilization works in full HD resolution and helps a picture of smoothing chamber shaking, autofocus is enjoying smoothly, and the picture does not break, as it is in some Google models and Xiaomi. Also installed a pretty good microphone with noise reduction and a bit rate of 96 kbps: the sound with high-profile rock concerts is written well, but in general it would be better.

Summing up, it should be noted that with the output of the PRO 6 Plus Meizu well worked on the camera of smartphones and began to produce really high-quality cameras. In general, both smartphone cameras remove plus / minus equally: although there is stabilization, but the best night shooting is still wishing the best, but the daily photography is obtained saturated and bright.

External appearance of devices

The front side of the MEZ is basically not changing for several years and here did not exceed. Perhaps this is because the front side of the MEZ has long established itself in the circle of smartphones and it gives a certain chip.

On the front side of the gadgets there is 2.5D glass, a mechanical button with a built-in fingerprint and oleophobic coating, which almost passes the fingerprints on the display.

The rear side of the devices is very different from each other. Pro 6 Plus is covered in a metal non-removable case, the center of which is located the Meizu logo and a slightly above the camera with a flash. Pro 7 Plus surprised the fans MEZ with posterior view: the smartphone is also equipped with a metal back corps With an additional display and a double camera above it, which shows the day of the week, weather and time, and can also help with Selfings, which we have already spoken above.

Dimensions and convenience of lying in hand

The enclosures of the smartphones are made using a 12-stage sandblasting processing, which allows to achieve the most comfortable sensations. With a diagonal of 5.7 inches, phones are tightly lying in hand, bypassing random drops. Volume control buttons and screen lock are suitable for the middle length of the fingers.

Performance

It is not worth not to mention the performance that it takes one of the main problems of each manufacturer, each of which wants to make your device more powerful than everyone, the budget meizu has long been in their own circle, but let's see how things are more prestigious MEIZU smartphones. Compare What is better Pro 6 Plus Pro 7 Plus?

Meizu MX6 comes with 4 GB of integrated RAM and the 8-core processor from Samsung (Exynos 8890 with a frequency 2.0 GHz and Cortex-A53 quad-core 1.5 GHz), and Pro 7 Plus includes 6 GB of RAM with a 10-core processor MediaTek Helio X30.

Meizu did not finish and installed in Pro 7 Plus the first processor with a threecluster architecture, created by the processor 10 nm, with which the smartphone automatically switches between performance and energy saving. Also you can not boast new technology Smartphone System Power Allocator, which distributes food and predicts energy use. With her help, the smartphone intuitively determines which of the applications is currently more important and controlling energy consumption.

The inner filling of devices shows itself very well. The performance of each smartphone gives almost the same results, in some cases it is better about 6, in some pro 7, but in general both are suitable for games in high quality.
