Starting September 8, customers in Moscow will be able to take advantage of a package offer that includes mobile and Internet services along with broadband Internet access, digital TV and fixed telephony. According to Andrey Ershov, CEO of MGTS, by 2017 MGTS plans to provide such services to up to 50% of Moscow's client base. “We have almost completed the first full-fledged convergent product in Russia,” says Yershov.

Representatives of both companies assured that in the foreseeable future, customers of other mobile operators will be able to switch to MGTS with keeping the number, which is now in testing mode.

The decision to create a multi-service operator was caused by a drop in voice traffic from traditional mobile service providers, Dmitry Kulakovskiy, Marketing Director at MGTS, told reporters. The new integrated operator will use the network infrastructure and frequencies of MTS, while MGTS will provide its own number base and Internet, digital TV and landline phone services, he explained.

According to Andrey Ershov, MGTS users will have access to three comprehensive service packages - Silver, Gold and Platinum, combining mobile and fixed services using GPON technology - an optical network that provides multifunctional broadband Internet access. The cost of the Silver package, which includes a home phone and internet, a digital TV package of 79 channels, and a mobile number with the prefix +7 (985) 905, will be 650 rubles. per month.

The Gold and Platinum packages mean expanding the standard options for a home phone and digital TV, increasing the speed of the Internet and receiving SMS packages and minutes for mobile communications. At the same time, the system allows you to connect up to five mobile numbers to a single MGTS user account and receive a single invoice for all services.

Kulakovsky told Gazeta.Ru that the cost of roaming services and calls to numbers of other operators for the standard Silver package will be the same as for MTS.

The multiservice operator created by MTS and MGTS will not remain the only one for long.

“We plan to launch converged products for the whole family, including both mobile communications and home Internet and television. Unlike MTS, we provide all the listed services from one legal entity, so we will not need the MVNO scheme, ”Beeline’s press service told Gazeta.Ru. The representative of the company did not specify in what terms the launch of services is planned.

“The creation of MVNO is the right direction for the development of the fixed broadband access market, which has almost reached saturation,” MegaFon's press service noted. “However, the demand for this product depends to a greater extent on how well the services are implemented, how user-friendly they are, what is the cost of the offer, and so on.”

“The offer of MGTS is very interesting for clients, since this company is a monopolist in the Moscow region for fixed communications. MGTS is trying to reduce the outflow of fixed-line subscribers by discounting a number of services in the complex. Given the extreme competition in the Internet and digital TV, MGTS and MTS will use their existing customer base to sell a range of services under a single brand,” Alexander Vengranovich, an analyst at Otkritie Capital, told Gazeta.Ru.

In his opinion, companies are unlikely to face technical problems, but demand growth will directly depend on marketing support and ensuring the declared quality of services.

Vengranovich sees a single account as an important competitive advantage for MGTS, as well as the future possibility of switching to MGTS while maintaining the number. “This offer will be especially interesting for corporate clients, since today companies are trying to optimize costs, and keeping the number can seriously help in this,” the expert summed up.

Vengranovich also believes that Beeline will soon try to create a similar product, using its strong presence in the field of broadband Internet access. “However, they do not have fixed-line services, which will not allow creating a completely similar product,” the analyst believes.

The concept of an MVNO operator is currently extremely popular in Europe, Asia, as well as in the USA and Canada. The ten largest MVNOs in 2013 accounted for 1.4% of the global mobile communications market by number of subscribers, with another 0.4% accounted for by other MVNOs not included in the top ten.

Calling MGTS, I found out that they added the cost of renting a TV set-top box (which I turned on 5-10 times in 3 years!) And which was included in the tariff! The operator said that there was information on the site! On which site (!?), Is this a special tariff - I answered. I went to check, "oh, by mistake" I sent it for recalculation and after learning that I don't watch TV, I offered to pick it up by calling the courier and asked for what day. I decided to take a break (the surprise had already ceased to be pleasant, rather unpleasant!) and decided to drive up to transfer 3 phones to MGTS on March 10.

I called back on March 10 in the morning about the arrival of the courier and the collection of the TV set-top box, and then I found out that the equipment must be disconnected from the optical Router (GPON) and bring the entire set to 4 offices in Moscow, which are located in the middle of nowhere (the nearest one is at 40 km from the house!from metro Bratislavskaya - 3 hours to spend!). I have been using the Internet from MGTS for several years now. In general, the provider suits me, but I noticed certain shortcomings.
1) the declared speed is observed, but only by wire. On the old Wi-Fi router, only 2.4 GHz, and with connection stability it is not very good, I can’t even call normally through mobile applications (as a rule, the person I call becomes hard to hear, the sound is interrupted). You even have to connect a mobile phone by wire to a computer, then the connection is good. I made repairs, installed Ethernet sockets, so Wi-Fi is not very important for me, I don’t even need to replace the router. I am writing just so that other users understand that the quality of communication over Wi-Fi is usually much worse, and it makes no sense to complain about low speed and breaks.

2) connection stability is good, although users often complained about failures in social networks, I have not encountered them at all lately. But the annoying thing is that I lost my IPv6 address since the new year, and for most users it works. I think that I will have to connect to the home Internet from the outside (there is IPv6 outside), and taking a static IP is expensive because of this. And on some sites, verification messages pop up due to a large number of requests from one IP, which is not the case on IPv6.

3) there are favorable tariffs with mobile communications (649 rubles for 200 Mbps Internet + 2 GB of mobile traffic + 350 minutes). There is a similar tariff with unlimited internet. But annoying is the strange subscription fee of 214 rubles for a home phone, which is rarely used. On mobile, the subscription fee includes a package of minutes, but for some reason it doesn’t here. Mobile communications developed at a fairly rapid pace, and the principle of setting a tariff for a landline phone froze for decades, and a landline phone became much more expensive than a mobile phone. I'm thinking about turning it off, only this mother has to go, the number is issued to her. Or leave it as a backup communication channel - mobile communications at home are not very good, and tariffs are cheaper now, and then they may rise in price. Although, on the other hand, MGTS works through MTS, and MTS mobile communications are better than other operators in that there are "goodies" that other operators do not have, for example, an application for calls with free calls within the network - within the operator's network, and not only inside the application, or the same IPv6. And I use it a lot in the country, and there the quality of communication became better last year. But in Online / Rostelecom, a home phone is without a monthly fee.

It would be better to include a home phone in the package at a discount, or include a package of minutes in the tariff with a minimum monthly fee, or remove this fee altogether. There must be some advantages for a home phone compared to a mobile phone, especially since radio link resources are more limited than optics.
