Why is the grass green. It is known that white is a mixture of colors, It is easy to see if you pass a beam of light through a glass prism. Since different colors have different angles of refraction, we will see all the components of white separately. These colors are conventionally divided into seven groups (“ colors of rainbow"). White color.

WHY THE PLANTS ARE GREEN? The work was done by: Chervatyuk Taisiya Olegovnat 1st grade MBOU "Akimovskaya secondary school" of the Municipal Formation of Nizhnegorsk region Scientific leader: Musledinova Niyara Azhmerovna Primary school teacher Plants play an important role on Earth. The vital processes of any organism require energy. The main and source of energy on Earth is the energy of the Sun, reaching us in the form of sun rays. However, animals, fungi and bacteria cannot use it in this form. We feed on organic substances and get energy from them. Plants can only perceive solar energy. Thus, plants provide food for almost all the rest of the living world on Earth. The purpose of my work was: to study the effect of sunlight on the growth and intensity of the process of photosynthesis in different conditions of plant growing. Wheat became the object of research. For the study, wheat seeds were germinated and sown, the plants were in two pots. One pot of wheat was placed in a dark cabinet, the other was on the windowsill in the primary school classroom. 3 days after the start of the experiment, observations were made: - the plant in a dark closet continued to grow regardless of its location, but it brightened and the color from dark green first changed to bright green, and then to yellow. - no color changes occurred with the plant on the windowsill. Thus, the effect of sunlight on the growth and intensity of photosynthesis by plants was investigated. A plant kept in a dark cabinet did not stop growing, which proves that plants do not need sunlight for growth, but enough However, there were still changes: the color changed from dark green, first to bright green, then to yellow. This indicates that the leaves of the plant contain substances that, depending on the intensity of sunlight, affect its color. Based on literature sources, we found out that such substances are green pigments - chlorophylls. And in a plant placed in a dark closet, the process of destruction of these substances took place. We also came to the conclusion that in autumn the leaves acquire a multi-colored color precisely because of this process - the process of destruction of green matter, and then the leaves slowly die off. As for the second plant, no noticeable changes happened to it, only after the measurement of the height of the plants was made, it was concluded that the plants had grown. In the course of the experiment, it was established that the growth of a plant does not depend on sunlight, but its color is directly related to the intensity of illumination by sunlight. Thank you for your attention!
