Principle of operation

The strobe circuit is powered by car battery. At the time of circuit breaker SA1, the DD1 trigger goes into the initial state. At the same time, high potential appears on inverse outlets (2, 12), and low potential on direct (1, 13) is low. Capacitors C3, C4 charged through the appropriate resistors.

The pulse from the sensor, passing through the differentiating circuit, enters the clock input of the first single-tractor DD1.1, which leads to its switching. A reload of C3 begins, which after 15 ms ends with another trigger switching. Thus, the simultor reacts to pulses from the sensor, forming rectangular pulses at the output (1). The duration of the output pulses with DD1.1 is determined by the R3 and C3 rates.

The second Software DD1.2 works in the same way, reducing the pulse duration at the outlet (13) 10 times (approximately 1.5 ms). The load for DD1.2 is an amplifying cascade of transistors that open at the time of the pulse. The pulse current through the LEDs is limited exclusively to the resistors R6-R8 and in this case it reaches the value of 0.8 A.

Do not be afraid of so much current. Firstly, its impulse does not exceed 1 ms, with a standard in operating mode at least 15. Secondly, modern LEDs have much better technical characteristics in comparison with their predecessors from 2000, when this scheme first received practical use. Changing the capacitance of the capacitor, you can change the luminescence time. If you choose a capacitor of greater capacity, then the LED is a strobe, with your own hands, will be brighter and glowing longer.

Device on the microcircuit

The main part of this simple scheme is a DD1 chip. This is the so-called atigner 155Ag1. In this scheme, it is started only from negative pulses. The control signal will go on the CT315 transistor, and it will form these negative impulses. Resistors 150 to OM, 1 to OM, 10 to OM, as well as Stabilitron KS139 work as the amplitude limiters of the incoming signal from the ignition of the car.

This stroboscope on LEDs, with your own hands made for this principle, can also be powered by a car battery. Diodes will allow protection from incorrect polarity. As a fastener, an ordinary crocodile is used here. It must be attached to the high-voltage contact of the first candle on the motor. The pulse is at the usual mode. Direct trigger yield has low level. Inverse entrance, respectively - high. The condenser attached by the plus to the inverse output is charged through the resistor.

The high-level pulse launches the simultor that switches the trigger and serves to charge the capacitor through the resistor. After 15 ms, the condenser is fully charged, and the trigger will switch to normal mode.

As a result, the simultor will react to this by a synchronous sequence of rectangular pulses by a duration of about 15 ms. The duration can be adjusted by replacing the resistor and the condenser.

The pulses of the second chip make up to 1.5 ms. For this period, transistors are opening, which are an electronic switch. Then the current flows through the LEDs. According to this principle, a stroboscope is running for a car (it has been manufactured with their own hands or not, it does not matter - both devices are shined equally).

The current passing through the LEDs is much greater than the passport. But, since the outbreaks are short, then the LEDs will not fail. Brightness will be enough to use this useful device even during the daytime.

How to work with the device?

In order to get the flashing effect, where each LED flashes twice, you need to use two close outputs of the meter. When the signal is submitted to the counter, the outputs are alternately formed impulses. At first, the impulse is formed at the first output, then switches to the second, third and so to the end, then the process is repeated first. The frequency and intensity of the flashes can be adjusted if it is regulated by a resistor rating between 6 and 7 of the timer outputs. In the output stage, you can use almost any powerful feed conductivity transistors, 13007 were used in my version (dropped from the Ballast LDS fees).


You can also configure the number of flashes on each lamp (1-5 flashes before switching). To do this, we simply add diodes to the outputs of the chip.
