That is why today I decided to write the most detailed (literally micro-step) guide about how to reinstall the top ten- such detailed instructions so that even people who are very inexperienced in computers understand what is done and how.

Windows 10 Installer

Before reinstalling Windows 10, we need to create a so-called installation media- write tens files to the USB flash drive. The program is called MediaCreationTool. It should be downloaded immediately before installing the operating system. This will give you a fresh top ten with all the latest important updates.

So, on any computer, run MediaCreationTool and to begin with, as is usually the case, we accept the terms of the agreement.

Then we wait a few seconds while the preparation is in progress. Then we select the second item - "Create installation media for another computer." Attention! Even if you will be installing Windows 10 on the same computer, it is still better to select item 2. The update (1 point) takes much longer, it provides for the ability to save personal files and settings, but a lot of garbage remains in the system.

In the next step, to write the program Windows installations 10, you need to choose the architecture (you can also choose the language) of the future system: 64-bit or 32-bit. Configuring Windows 10 installation from a USB flash drive for BIOS

For BIOS, moving to the right with the arrow, you need to go to the Boot tab. All possible devices for loading will be indicated below, so that the computer boots first of all from a USB flash drive, you need to raise the item with it (in the figure it is the lowest) to the first position. To do this, we go down to it with the usual down arrow, but we move the items in the list with the F6 (up) and F7 (down) keys. (There may be other buttons for navigating the BIOS - they will be named on the right and below.) I stood on the USB item I needed and pressed the F6 key 4 times. In general, you need to ensure that your USB device (flash drive) is in the 1st place in the boot list.

By analogy with BIOS, everything is done and more modern program UEFI. We also go there by pressing one of the function keys(it turned out to be Del for me). Then we go to the menu responsible for setting the boot and select our USB flash drive as the first number. In UEFI, as a rule, you can use a mouse - so everything is easier here.

Details BIOS settings or UEFI-BIOS for booting into flash drives may differ from those described depending on your computer or laptop model. In the comments below on this page, do not hesitate to ask questions if something is not clear to you.

Step 2. Install Windows 10

After we have done desired settings in the BIOS, we restart the computer and see that the Windows 10 installation process begins. To begin with, the “tens” logo just appears, then all sorts of questions. At first, we leave everything as it is.

The next step is to select the item "I do not have a product key". If Windows 10 has already been activated on your machine, then the license has already been tied to it and will be automatically confirmed after installation.

Now you will need to select the version of the installed operating system: Pro or Home. If you do not know which one to choose, then stop at Domashnaya - with a probability of 99% you had it.

At the next step, we are once again offered to save any data from the operating system existing on the hard disk, but we once again refuse (and do absolutely right) and select the item “ Custom: Windows installation only (advanced users)».

At the next stage, all partitions of the hard disk appear in front of us. If the system is completely cleaned up, then personally I would prefer to delete each of these volumes in turn. Remains "Unallocated space on disk0" (as in my picture). This is where we'll install Windows 10. You don't need to create anything. Section C will appear on its own during the installation process. Just click "Next".

After a while, the computer will restart. (If after that it will ask you to press any key, then you should not do this - otherwise the Windows installation will start over).

The moment you reboot is better remove the USB stick from the USB port... If this is not done, then booting from the flash drive will remain a priority and the installation of Windows 10 will start over.

And the installation will continue.

Further, the installation will be performed already on blue screen... First, you will be prompted to "Increase the speed of work". You can use the standard parameters, but I prefer to go into the settings and disable all five items.

In the next step, we have three options:

Sign in with an existing Microsoft account.
If not, you can create an account.
Skip this step and continue with a local account.

Personally, I appreciate the ability to sync settings and files in the cloud. Therefore, I always use a Microsoft account. And I advise you to start and use it. To do this, you just need to enter the address of your Email and come up with a password (numbers and Latin letters). In the next step, for privacy reasons, it is better to uncheck both checkboxes.

Now, to enter your account on your computer, you will need to enter your email address and password. However, in the next step, this process can be greatly simplified by coming up with a simple 4-digit PIN code for authorization. Attention! The pin code is valid on one computer only.

This step, like the previous ones, can be skipped, but personally I prefer to set a simple PIN-code and enter it if necessary, rather than a more complex password.

The installation is almost complete. In the remaining time, the screen will sequentially change the greeting inscriptions: "Hello", "We are glad that you are with us", "Preparation is in progress, do not turn off the computer" and others. After the word "Getting Started", the long-awaited desktop finally appears.

Now it is highly desirable to get a few necessary updates as soon as possible and that's it. required drivers(in Windows 10, it is extremely rare to manually install drivers - they are installed here automatically, through the update center). To do this, go to the "Start" menu, select the gear icon.

The Options tool starts. In it we go: "Update and Security", then "Check for Updates". If there is nothing, then after some time something will surely appear.

Do not rush to immediately discount this option until you read this section of the article.

Another option to get the officially activated version of the Windows 10 operating system for free is actually the recognition of oneself as a person with disabilities (or maybe we mean our material capabilities?). For such people, Microsoft has provided a proposal for free transition to the top ten from 7 or 8 Windows versions no expiration date... In general, I would definitely try this method myself, if I had not preferred participation in the Insider Program and had not already received my licensed version of Windows 10 there.

Let me add that I do not in any way want to call you to deceive Microsoft. If you do not have a pre-prepared distribution kit of "tens", it is easier and more convenient to instruct it to download the Microsoft Media Creation Tools utility and use it to burn it to a USB flash drive or DVD.

The utility does not require installation on a PC, it is enough to run it with administrator rights.

After launching Media Creation Tools:

In the "License Terms" window, click "Accept".

To the question "What do you want to do?" we answer: "Create media for another computer."

In the "Selecting options" section, we define the system language, edition ("home for one PC" or "Windows 10") and architecture (bitness) - 64 or 32. If the selection options are grayed out, the "Use recommended settings" checkbox should be unchecked.

Next, select the drive: USB - to create a bootable flash drive, or an ISO file - to upload an image that you will later burn to DVD.

After selecting the USB device, click "Next" and wait 30-50 minutes while the program downloads the distribution kit and creates the installation media. At this time, the computer is available for use.

You will be informed that it is time to proceed with the installation by the message: "The USB flash drive is ready."

Installation launch options

Windows 10 installation can be started in two ways:

From under a running system. It can be used if you plan to reinstall it or install the top ten from scratch to another partition of the disk.
When booting from the installation media (via BIOS). A universal option that is suitable for installing the system on a new computer, and for reinstalling old copy Windows.

When choosing the first option, open boot disk or a USB flash drive in Explorer and run the Setup.exe file.

If you choose the latter, boot your computer from the installation media.

How to boot a PC or laptop from a USB flash drive

BIOS Setup Utility on different computers has a different interface. To enter it, you must press a certain key immediately after turning on the machine and the manufacturer's splash screen appears on the screen. Which one is usually indicated at the bottom of the splash screen. Most often it is Delete, F2 and Escape, sometimes - F1, F3, F10, F12 or a combination of several keys.

Once the utility is open, navigate to the Boot section. In the BIOS Setup Utility version shown in the screenshot, this is a separate tab in the top menu.

In other versions, it does not exist as such, and the necessary settings are collected in the "Advanced Bios Features" section. In order not to confuse anything at the most crucial moment, study in advance the BIOS interface of your computer and figure out what and where is.

In the "Boot" section, you will see a list of devices from which the machine can boot. As a rule, the hard disk is in the first place. You need to make sure that the computer first checks the boot files not on it, but on the USB flash drive. To do this, using the arrow keys, as well as F5, F6, plus and minus (the tip is located in the right half of the BIOS window), lift the USB device to the top of the list. Press F10 to save the setting and exit the utility.

In graphic UEFI versions You don't need to change the order of the devices, just click on the USB device. After that, the PC will restart and start booting from the selected media.

The main part of the installation

Most of the Windows 10 installation process takes place without the active participation of the user. You will have to work only at the beginning and a little at the end.

So, the first thing you have to do is choose the operating system language, time formats, currency formats and the main keyboard layout. If you downloaded Russian version Windows, by default the Russian language will be here.

After defining the language settings, click the "Install" button.

Accept the license terms. To go to the next task now and in the future, press the "Next" button.

The next step is to define the type of installation - update or custom (in previous versions it was called clean). We, accordingly, need the second type.

If you want to install the system while keeping the license, do not format the disk, but carry out the installation in the same partition where the previous activated one is located. copy of windows... Second important factor save activation - new system must be the same version as the old one. If you install Windows 10 Ultimate instead of Home, you can't do without losing your license!

After finishing work with the disc, you can relax - for the next 40-60 minutes the process will go on without your participation. If you want, just watch him.

The computer will then restart and continue with the installation. Most of the time, the Windows logo will hang on the screen and the "wheel" will rotate. You can understand at what stage the process is by the messages at the bottom of the screen.

It's time to get back to active action, because the end of the installation is nearing. When you see an offer to increase the speed of work, click the "Use standard parameters" button. You can change them later if you wish.

After the upgrade, you will need to create the first user account. By default, it will be assigned administrative rights. Everything is simple here - enter a username and enter a password, if necessary.

Finally - the long-awaited desktop. Everything is ready, the installation of Windows 10 is complete. We hope it didn’t bore you too much, because now you have to configure the network, design the desktop, install applications and other pleasant chores to "settle in" the new OS.

If during the installation Windows did not require input license key, check if the activation is in place. Open the context menu of the "Start" button and go to the system settings.

Activation information is located at the bottom of the Basic Computer Information window. In our example, it was not executed, since the "ten" was set to virtual machine from scratch.

If you succeeded in reinstalling the license, you can delete the C: \ Windows.old folder, which contains the files of the previous copy of the system. They are no longer needed - the activation information has been successfully migrated to the new one.

How to install a system from a hard drive

There are situations when neither flash drives nor DVDs are at hand. In a word, nothing but hard disk the same computer on which you want to install Windows 10.

To install "tens" from a hard drive, you must meet 3 conditions:

Have a distribution kit. More convenient - in the form of a set of files and folders. If you only have an ISO image, you will have to unpack it, for example, using an archiving application (WinRAR, 7-zip and analogs) or Windows explorer(only in the "eight" and "ten").
Have an additional partition on a hard disk with a capacity of 3 GB or more. Desirable free.
The computer must boot from the same disk. If not, you will need a Live CD / Live USB (portable operating system) media such as BartPE, Alkid Live CD, etc. You can easily find their images on the net.

Carrier installation files will serve as a hard disk, more precisely, its additional section. You will need an operating system to copy the distribution and create its bootloader.

Installation procedure

Boot your computer from a hard drive or portable OS media.
Copy the files and folders of the Windows 10 distribution to the root of the additional partition (not the one into which the system will be installed).

Rename the boot file (bootmgr), for example "Win10". Its name must not exceed 5 characters.

Now you have to create a bootloader for the distribution using the BootICE utility. You can use other boot management tools instead, but we chose BootICE because we find it the easiest and most convenient tool.

Run the utility (it does not require installation). In chapter " Physical disk"(Physical disk) select the computer hard drive from the" Destination disc "list. Click the Process MBR button.

Check Grub4DOS and click Install / Config.

In the "Rename GRLDR" section, write down the new name of the Windows 10 boot file (as you remember, we named it "Win10") and click "Save to disk". Click OK on the message that the bootloader was successfully created and close the utility.

It remains to restart the computer. At the next start, the Windows 10 setup program will receive control, and then it will be the same as when installing the system from a USB flash drive.
