1) Download the MF5730 driver (or MF57xx series drivers) for windows7 x64, unpack (if in the archive)

One moment:
You can download it from here (collected everything I needed to install into the archive). The archive contains READY files for installing a printer and a scanner (The folders are different. Perhaps the printer will be installed from the scanner folder - I did not check it):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/vmi3pjvea3hwn25/CanonLaserBaseMF3110.zip
If the link does not work, search in Google and follow the description;)

2) Open the MF12SCN.INF file through notepad (in the downloaded folder with drivers)
3) Find the section in the file:

Add the line to the end of the section:
% LPTENUM \ MF3110.DeviceDesc% = MF5730Install_XP, USB \ VID_04A9 & PID_2660 & MI_00
In the screenshot, the section is squared, the line is underlined:

4) In the window that opens: Search for drivers on this computer - specify the directory where the drivers are located (the same in which MF12SCN.INF) - Next
5) Complete the installation to the end (a warning may appear that the driver may not work, or may not work correctly - ignore and continue the installation)

UPD To install the scanner in Windows 8.1 x64, you must additionally disable the check digital signature driver, otherwise the scanner will not stand up. Decision from Alexey Aksenov from the comments.

UPD For windows 10 x64, you also need to disable the driver digital signature verification. Decision from stephan_dupo

UPD To install the printer as a network printer, it is necessary to install drivers from the MF5730 (x86 or x64, depending on the OS) on the machine where the MF3110 MFP is installed. After that, the drivers on the client machine (x64) will stand up without problems. Decision from w13ard

PS after that I tried to start the scanner manually (with buttons on the printer), but for some reason it did not work. The scanner worked fine through the WinScan2PDF program. I think that it should work fine through other programs as well.
PS2, as far as I remember, both device names were either ugly, or differed from "MF3110", but this did not interfere with their performance.

UPD To prevent the scanner name from being crooked When editing the MF12SCN.INF file, add at the end, after the code for 5770:

LPTENUM \ MF5770.DeviceDesc = "Canon MF5770"
MF5770RFN = "MF5770"
MF5770.MDL = "Canon MF5770"
MF5770.SRS = "Canon MF5770"
MF5770.DeviceDesc = "Canon MF5770"
MF5770.SPInfo = "Canon MF5770 Scanner"
MF5770.TwainDS = "Canon MF5770"
MF5770.ColorGear = "F57C"
MF5770.FriendlyName = "WIA Canon MF5770"

Same for 3110:

LPTENUM \ MF3110.DeviceDesc = "Canon MF3110"
MF5770RFN = "MF3110"
MF5770.MDL = "Canon MF3110"
MF5770.SRS = "Canon MF3110"
MF5770.DeviceDesc = "Canon MF3110"
MF5770.SPInfo = "Canon MF3110 Scanner"
MF5770.TwainDS = "Canon MF3110"
MF5770.ColorGear = "F57F"
MF5770.FriendlyName = "WIA Canon MF3110"

A bit of a loud title for the article - "do it yourself". Especially then you don't have to do anything.

Foreword. MFP CANON LB MF3110

Now a little history. The other day I got a great device - Canon LaserBase MF3110... For those who do not know - an unkillable device about 10 years old. The beauty of the situation is that it was on it that I worked 8 years ago. No, not on the same model, but on this MFP, with this serial number.

The MFP of my former office, for some reason, was gathering dust in the warehouse without work, and the director kindly offered me to pick it up, saying that he had no idea why no one gave the device a mind. We were not accustomed to throwing ourselves away with such wealth and, thanking the director, took the apparatus.

After letting it stand for a while and dry off after a damp warehouse, we tried to turn it on. Our surprise knew no bounds when we managed to make a high-quality copy, with an almost new cartridge in the device. The frustration began when we realized that Canon MF3110, driver Windows 10 x64 can not found.

How to replace Canon MF3110 driver in Windows 10 x64?

After a little googling, we found out that the driver can be replaced with a driver from MF5700 series that is available for 64-bit Windows. Everything would be fine - this is the solution, but we constantly stumbled on something.

Either the driver did not want to be installed for some unknown reason, the system was not satisfied with the driver's signature, and so on. Something was in the way all the time. We decided to make your life a little easier by writing this instruction.

Install MF 3110 to the "ten" x64

Download the necessary files

It may appear that Printer.zip and Scaner.zip are the same files. This is the case with one difference. For some unknown reason, the scanner did not install from the first archive just as the printer did not want to install from the second. Attempts to merge files did not work. Therefore, two devices are two archives.

We do steps 1 through 3 with it in the same way as described above when installing the printer. Point 4 and subsequent ones will differ slightly from the previous instructions.

4. In the instructions above, at this point, we chose, now we have to scroll down a little and select.

If scanning programs cannot connect to MF3110 scanner on Windows 10 x64

To this end, Canon has prudently created patch that you just need to run.

How to scan?

Many users have a question, how to scan? What program and where to get it? After all, Windows 10 does not have the usual "seven" program.

It is necessary to clarify: it is there, only hidden.

Open "Computer", then your system disk(usually C :). Next open Windows folder... Find and open the System32 folder. find the WFS.exe file in it - create a shortcut for it and pull it to the desktop. Those who know how to use the search - use the search.

This file is Windows Fax and Scan.

We hope you succeed.

Solution from comments for those who have the printer "hidden" in software devices

The actions are as follows:

1. In Device Manager, => Actions => Install old device => Install manually

3. In the list of equipment, select 5700 printer.

4. If it doesn't work, go to "Devices and Printers", select the installed 5700 , right-click, and select "Propertiesprinter "(There is still just Properties, do not confuse).

We repeat steps 4 and 5 changing the port to the next, for example USB003, until the printer seals.
